I think it's a good update as they addressed all the points criticised on the V3.
- The glossy casing (Although I don't know if I like that the new casing made out of aluminium. I once owned a Enermax Aurora and it was kind of cold at the beginning).
- They integrated a USB 3.0 hub. Something afaik only Roccat offers at the moment
- I like the idea with the ruler

I wonder if they switched back to CST for V4...

Seriously though, I don't understand Das's appeal. This model is improved on their earlier stuff, but it's still less impressive than many a board, yet carries a premium price. Check the staggering array of switches available: blue, brown, and end of list. Brown even comes at a premium!

How does the knob hook up to the computer, I wonder? That and a non-obsolete USB hub are two good things about this board.

USB ports finally aren't on the right. It's not like I'd want to use a pointing device on the right of a full-size keyboard though...

Anyway, back to patient waiting for Das Keyboard X aka ErgoDox, the final keyboard for typists.

This certainly looks better than the glossy model, however it's not for me. The aluminium top panel may be nice, but the rest of the keyboard is still plastic, so it's kind of a letdown. Also I hate media keys, I totally don't get it as F-keys can work perfectly like media keys. If the knob doubles for others features such as scrolling, zooming, etc. it may be useful, ando so the usb hub, but at the end of the day I still wish they cut all the crap and just made a tenkeyless.

The legends are better than they used to be. (And centred: nice!) But I don't care for the font. Bit on the small side, too.

It's volume only folks. The most sensible thing, sure, but no mention of applying it to anything else.

Looks good to me. Nothing to sell my Filco for, but look and features are nice. One of the few mech keyboar that don't sport a loud gamer design.

I thought the knob it could double like a scroller because it can be turned from the side of the keyboard. But if it's only for volume I call it overkill.

Remapping it to arrows or page up/down is a matter of what? One or two commands?

Well I actually never liked the Das design but this one is even more overloaded than the previous version.
Don't hate me but I'd definately prefere a filco over this thing. I'd rather go for a CM QFR plus custom caps for that price.

This knob is amazing if you youse hifi with your pc i think, i really have a high qualtiy hifi and therefore i like knobs.

If only software volume control didn't degrade audio quality... Fortunately, I have a hardware knob on my soundcard.

Any inline volume control introduces noise. By definition, you're amplifying more than you need to at the end of the chain. The real place to put a knob is right on the amp itself.

If I really wanted a knob I'd go for a Griffin PowerMate rather than have it on a bulky keyboard. But then again, I'm not into knobs.

Anyway, someone has mentioned the Das' case reads "made in China" at GH. I wonder where it comes from then, because it does look like a Costar design.

I can see that centered legends (re-introduced to the keyboards world through my Round 3 group buy) became indeed the today's standard!

The knob jutting out of the side is just asking to be constantly turned by accident. Also, the trailer video describing media keys and a volume knob as "revolutionary features" is hilarious.

I wonder if the ruler-foot can be attached at the front edge for negative tilt.

The bump at the top is really un-appealing. (Eagerly awaiting my set of blank cherry profile caps for my G80 to create an imitation Das II).

It's implied by the text labels: red line = down stroke (where activation occurs) and green = up stroke (where the reset happens).
