Unless you need perfection don't get a Type-S. There not worth the money for the little you gain (dampened sound, better mouldings). They feel pretty much the same. I think if I was blind/deaf tested, I couldn't tell the difference.koralatov wrote:Good to know. My plan, if I find I like Topres after I try the try-pad from Mr. Interface, is to eventually get a Realforce for work and an HHKB for home. The fact that the HHKB’s keys are closer to 55g than 45g is good news. Now if I can just find £600!fossala wrote:A hhkb switch is far more tactile than a 45g realforce one. I love HHKB switches but find the 45g realforce a bit "meh".
On the subject of HHKBs, how does the Type-S compare to the regular one in terms of feel? Does it feel much different?
Interest Check - BEIGE or Gray? ISO Topre / keyboardco

Cheers. I think if I get an HHKB, I’ll stick with the regular one. It also means I can get it in black, which is the direction I’m currently leaning.fossala wrote:Unless you need perfection don't get a Type-S. I second/third/forth etc the "anything light coloured" motion. Grey, biege... all good. Definitely prefer lighter boards for some reason.
Back on switches - purely from reading stuff here, am thinking I'd probably prefer Uniform. Variable seems better for typing documents in whatever your spoken language is - and uniform is preferred for coding, games, bash, keyboard shortcuts etc...? Note sure... guess it's ultimately down to personal preference and trying them out - might find out I don't like topres at all!
