Something I did not expect..

So, as we know, Cherry has a few types of keycaps.
  • Thick ABS doubleshots
  • Thick PBT dyesubs
  • Thick PBT lasered
  • Thin PBT lasered
  • Thick POM lasered/blank
I'm sure we're all familiar with the 1800 family of Cherry keyboards too. 1800s come with most of those keycap types, but nobody has ever found an 1800 with thick PBT dyesubs. Until now.. :evilgeek:

I've been speaking to another member here who owns one. He has said he will try to upload some pictures when he gets the chance.

So, they do exist after all! In my mind, this the most significant Cherry discovery that's happened recently. I had guessed that they didn't exist, since we have not seen one yet. I was wrong!

Model is G80-1800SQR. No records of it on any search engine, or on any of the forums :o Two-tone ANSI layout with red cyrillic.

And Cyrillic no less....assuming no Cherry product code shenanigans.

Nice, can't wait for pics.

Also, I should've said. It is completely dyesub. Even the 1800-specific keys. Not some frankenset..

Any advance on the pictures? This raises some interesting questions about the PBT 1.75u shift that nobody apparently has the molds for!

I never use cash these days. So many fake coins over here! Everyone gives them out in change, but nobody accepts them!
