Almost twice as thick

What would really make these ideal would be if the top and bottom of the cross weren't closed off. If instead they were open, i.e., the vertical portion of the cross was just a completely open vertical channel, these could be used with Topre switches with a simple adapter plug (eliminating the need for hybrid Topre switches).
