I've ordered from PCBWay twice and the reason was price. Both designs were radically different from anything done before and I didn't want to spend a lot on something that probably wouldn't work. My XTant was the first new capacitive buckling spring keyboard since IBM stopped making Model F keyboards in the 1980's. I had absolutely no idea if it would work, but happily it did. Now there are a few new capacitive buckling spring projects building on that and I hope to see more.
Despite the low cost, the quality from PCBWay was better than some other PCB manufacturers I have used that charge more. When I submitted the order for the XTant, I was contacted by someone about the design - they were concerned that they there were so few pads on the PCB. I had to assure him that the design was correct. Capacitive buckling spring PCBs do look very different (almost featureless) compared to other PCB, so I appreciate that they contacted me to confirm. I recall that delivery time was very good.
The only complaint I might have is problems getting/claiming promotions. I've written a few reviews - I think I was supposed to get a small discount on my next order for that, but I never got it. That hasn't been enough of a complaint to bring up without prodding, though.

If I recall correctly, it took about 10 days from the time PCBWay accepted the design till they were delivered to my office via DHL. The first design passed inspection on 21 August 2014 and was delivered 31 August. The second passed inspection 7 April 2015 and ... I can't find the delivery date, but remember thinking "wow, that was quick" when I got it.
I don't recall the exact prices on either of the two orders, but I did use PCBShopper to get quotes and PCBWay was the least expensive including delivery. Both orders were for 10 pieces keyboard PCB.

I've used PCBWay for my
kb45p. The reason was price (for these bigger PCBs it was very good IMO). I personally value the most the quality of the PCBs (compared to the price) - and this batch from PCBWay was pretty good (I'd say the same or better as some other China-based PCB manufacturers I've used before).
I also appreciate that there weren't any additions to the silkscreen (This has happened with some other prototyping services, they added some kind of serial number to the top silk on the board.)
I went with the cheapest shipping (I didn't mind waiting for the PCBs), and the shipping time was still OK (to UK). The boards were very nicely packed.
{It should be noted that these were 2-sided PCBs, and quite generously spaced. I didn't order any board which would be close to the specified limits, although I may have a batch coming up.}
The one thing I'd like to see is a cheaper ENIG: if I just need one or two small PCBs (as I usually do), I don't mind ordering 10 (because the PCBWay price is really great), but ENIG for these small batches raises the price too much. I would really welcome a service of the type "cheap ENIG with e.g. 3 weeks waiting time until the panel fills up".

Wow. It was fast!
In fact, i think the most important thing will be the price. Second, quality. Third, after-sale service.
What's the soldermask of your pcb ? Will they (PCBWay) increase the price if i order white or black soldermask?
Many pcb manufacturers will increase the price with black or white soldermask.

It's cool that some of our regular members like your service, but please stop making obvious shill accounts that pretend to know nothing about the company.

I think this is one of their unsolicit intrusive promotions, I really hate it.
I've seen several promotions on other electronics related forums like eevblog.

Hello everyone, I'm the COO in PCBWay company.
celia, this is your page? Or just coincident?
This page has same URL as one in the first post.
https://github.com/celia12
I guess "hh" part of the URL is promotion code for one of PCBWAY's employees or ad agents.

They've been spamming members via PMs too.
Also, spamming and such ethics aside, there's a reason why their boards are so cheap - the quality is not that great. From what I've seen in pictures, it's acceptable if you want very basic boards for prototypes. Production... definitely not. The tolerances are just not there, and you'll pay a ton more (more than competitors) for ENIG (recommended for SMD) and high Tg substrates.

Thank you for all of your replies.
If there will be other promotions of us, i will post them to you.
Sorry if my post attracts some spammers.

I have gotten an unsolicited PM as well. Your post is not "attracting" spammers, it seems that your company is the one doing the spamming. This is very sketchy and does not leave me with a very good impression of your company at all.

Indeed. I got this PM a few hours ago from a brand new account:
norahvoss wrote:Hi,
We are professional pcb and pcba prototype manufacturer. Just $8 for 10 pcs. Register to get $5 coupon and enjoy 15% off discount. Free universal boards will be sent to you as a gift. 3-5 days delivery time.

The link is via Twitter's evil tracker so I can't be arsed following it. If it's to PCBway / you marketers, I'm considering nuking you and all of these accounts. Spamming at DT is a BANNABLE offense.
Anyone else seen similar?

Thanks, guys. When I'm at my keyboard I'll get the ban hammer warmed up. It'll be an active session.
Please post the usernames of the various sock puppets this spammer has contacted you with. It's laundry night!

My PM was from the same person, and thanks to the magic of URL unshorteners I can say that the link indeed leads to PCBWay.

Yea, while I liked pcbway before this whole shebang (as I wrote above), I'll most likely not be using, or recommending, them again.

Yeah, not very reassuring to see a company spamming and making fake accounts on a forum. It's just not a sign of professionalism; if anything, it's a lack thereof. I'll be avoiding PCBWay from now on.
