Stuff I didn't buy ...

And did also not share in the finds thread ... and now I kind of suffer from inverse buyers remorse.

I'm not sure if this warrants its own thread, time will tell. I feel like its worth sharing these so people know what to look for ...

First some teletype where I was not sure about the switches ... also ended up being quite expensive.

And now two boards that are probably Micro Switch.

The first one had some scratched keys, which gave me second thoughts ;(

The second one I really wanted to have, but I was kind of waiting for my birthday so that I could justify it to myself. Well, when I finally decided to get it, it was gone :/. This one almost certainly has Micro Switch SW switches.

We watch the same stuff. The surface rust on the Teletype was just a bit much for me and as you say..it went for too much money anyways.

This started north of 300$ and I was waiting for it to go double digit. Seems like somebody was not as patient as I am, which makes my wallet happy :)

Considering that another in the same condition sold for $350 plus shipping and that used ones often fetch this amount, it was great deal.

b***a bought them both. I was eyeing those too but a purchase would only been for the curiousity of the switches. I don't think they are normal hall-effect Micro Switch switches but the PCBs of that era do look similar. Has anyone seen those switches before?

It is still unclear how to identify which have brown Alps and which have Mitsumi. :|

I could have filled this thread with PAGES of "Stuff I didn't buy ...". :x

Maybe you could fill this thread with some of your more notable ones.

As much "fun" as this thread could be I think we should focus on keyboards that are actually bought by one of us. I mean what am I going to post? Wiki links of keyboards I didn't buy? Hmm... :|

What I do sometimes do is go through old DT threads from before I registered, you'd be suprised what you might have missed...

Just lost a deal for an italian Model F AT. It was in very good conditions and the seller wanted 50€ plus shipping. Anybody got that?

Oh man, just reading about it is gonna hurt every european member here.

On-topic, I realised today I missed Mac Portable for some $50 from Poland. Listing was in January when I didn't even know I want it, but it still hurts a bit.

Absolutely. Original Italian IBM boards that old are hard to come by. I'm trying to collect them, I already have Italians Model M, Battle Cruiser, F XT, WheelWriter, Selectric and 3101 beamer, so that would have been a great addition.
