SSK (or any Model M) owners: what color is your barrel plate?

Just read this thread: photos-f62/my-ssk-is-here-t9667.html and noticed that there was a comment on OP's barrel plate being beige, apparently rare. This led me to wonder if it was actually any rarer to have a beige barrel plate as opposed to the black plates seen here: photos-f62/ibm-industrial-ssk-differences-t16586.html

My SSK is a 1991 1392934 with a beige plate.

I have two SSKs, one each black and beige. The black one is 1391472 (1987); beige is 1392934 (1991).

I have two full-sized Model Ms with beige barrel plates. They both have model number 1391401 and were made in 1989 and 1991.

I think that they are about equally common, I have had quite a few of each. I think that black ran until the very late 1980s, then beige until somewhere in the mid-1990s (perhaps until Unicomp took over), then back to black afterwards.

My experience is that it ran across the model lines, terminals and 122s have similar color changes.

I have two full-sized Model M's (1391401) where one is from 1987 with a black barrel plate and the other one is from 1989 with a beige barrel.

(Don't have a nice, clear shot of the one with a beige barrel cuz it's a dirty boi.)
