I have never been able to get on kbdmania at all. It wont even load the home page. it just sits and spins.

It is way too slow in the UK as well.
Not sure whether it is due to a heavy traffic as there are plenty of other heavier Korean sites loading much faster.
Well, at least OTD is fast enough.

It's not traffic. Find a good proxy and it's a very fast site. It's probably peering/transit agreements and Korean IP packet filtering.
