I think this is a perfect question for the Keyboard Oracle. I beseech thee to seek guidance from The Holy Master.

As always, it depends on what switch you want, what kind of build quality you expect, if you want it plate- or pcb-mounted... and how much you feel like coughing.
Which then depends on where you live.

On the good-quality ones that I know about, there's Archiss/Leopold and Filco.

Leopold/Filco +1

If you don't mind the dumb down build quality of ducky 1087, it could be a fine choice as well.
got money for realforce? <wink>

It would probably be wiser for him to wait until he has received his 9008 prior to ordering yet another one... just in case.

+2 for the Leopold/Filco. If you like your ducky when it arrives then get a ducky tenkeyless if you enjoy it. But the Leopolds from ek are up for preorder at $99 which is a good price.

wouldn't it depend on what you're going to use the keyboard for primarily? +3 for filco either way

Either Filco or Leopold if you want Tenkeyless boards.

Leopold
FIlco
Ducky

are your 3 main chocices. Filco is around $160. You can buy off amazon (looks like out of stock at the moment). Leopold is $100, but its currently only on pre-order. Ducky I think there are some Asian website that sells for pretty cheap international shipping. (I can't be too sure though, might've just been a promo.)

I like it when people ask for suggestions but don't give very many details of what they're looking for :p.

In this case I will assume you are looking for a combimouse.

Wow... I'm not ready for a combimouse.

Datahand dismissed that idea over 2 decades ago and went for another solution.

Filco is good.

Why is it that every 'suggest a board' thread I see, it is only ever talking about what thing to buy out of new stuff?

I guess I'm too oldschool for that. And cheap.

Filco X 4

Leopolds work.
Ducky's don't.

If you have a blue cherry...now I'll buy a brown cherry keyboard...so you'll have a noisy and a "silent" keyboard.

I would recommend a Filco as well. Alternatively you could go for the Leopold as suggested before in case you don't want to spend that much money.

Now that EliteKeyboard has stopped stocking them, where can someone go to buy a Filco?

The Keyboard Company, they're the UK seller, but they also have some Filco for sale in the US via Amazon Marketplace

Ask the keyboard oracle if you are unsure what keyboard to buy.
