Hi guys I recently connected some wires incorrectly and burned out something....
I'm not so sure what it is exactly but here is an IMAGE of it
If you guys could can you tell me what it is so maybe I can go out and buy it
It's the BLACK thing beside the plug
C106?
Capacitor 10u?

Quick google search confirms it as SMD capacitor:
16V 10UF ein 3216 100 Span-Tantalkondensator C106 SMD 16V 10UF PCS-10uF/16V SMT-A 3216-18
Any old 16v(or higher rated) 10UF cap should do the trick.

Hey it's you again!
Thank you very much!
I actually found that on ebay the exact same ones so I ordered 50 on them = =......

mmm I don't know if it matters but I found a like the cylinder capacitor that is 10uF and 25v. I solder it on but does still doesn't work.
All the LEDs light up but nothing else works.

That capacitor should work...but are you sure that cap is alright? Some recycled caps tend to dry up...if you have a multimeter measure across the capacitor, as well as the SMD 0.1 UF capacitor next to it. The SMD caps dont look any different when they break. What about those scuffed up traces mid picture? Have you checked those? One looks interrupted.
Out of interest...What kind of a PCB am I looking at, what board is this from?
You might also ask a mod to move this to the modifications section, you might get more help there.

Something pretty bad must've happened for that capacitor to burn out, it's unlikely to be the only casualty
I would guess that it's for power smoothing, so sits between power and ground. Was power applied in reverse at some point? That could well kill ICs, but not leave a visible mark on them.

Yeaa lawll I accidently read the MircoUSB chart wrong and connected the power in reversed
This is a Noppoo Choc Mini.
The Capacitor that I'm using is a 10uF 16v.
What I was trying to do was to make my Noppoo with detached USB. So I went on google and looked up the pinout. Instead of searching for the female head I looked at the male head pinout. So everything was completely in reverse.....
Now when you talk about the ICs being like th Chips? if so DAMNIT!!!!

This is a image of the whole board

OR maybe the other capacitor blewup as well? or the 6MHz broke?
I don't really know but I hope I can fix it somehow

The other capacitor isn't polarized, so it will be OK. And the 6MHz crystal wil be OK too.
But yes, I'm afraid I do mean the chip(s)
They tend to be the most fragile pieces on the board.
What happened to that broken looking track?! Is it fixed?

OH nono that's not my image I took it off someone else's page
But mine doesn't have a broken track
So wait I search up the chip and some people do sell it. I'm wondering can I just purchase and solder or do I have to do some soldering?

OK, that's good about the track!
The chip is no use by itself, it needs the correct software loading into it

Alright although the problem is not fix but this is really helpful information for my future soldering project.
Especially NOT to soldering the wrong cables.
