What a wonderful world it is.

I thought I had seen everything : from Cherries to Alps to Topres to Buckling springs to keycaps to letterings....

Then I got myself a MX brown poker and liked it because of it's small form factor but disliked the overall typing quality since the poker is PCB mounted only.

Then I fitted an alu case : and what a difference that makes! The little PCB already did not flex as much as the larger PCB mounted keyboards do, but now that the PCB is firmly attached to the alu outer shell the experience can only be described as if there is a metal plate inside the Poker(!). Absolutely love it.

This will be my main driver for the coming time

I can't find a alu plate thick 1.5mm T_T and I'll try on alu plate thick 2mm

I was wondering where you got the plate from?

I just moved the Alu case from my Poker to my Pure and guess what? It fits! There is only 1 screw in the middle that is not present in the Alu case so I leave that one out and it works like a charm. I like the Pure a little better than the Poker because of the fact that I can't get used to using Fn ` to get to my Esc.

If you do FN + Q you activate the ESC lock mode.

Edit : Darn, that ESC lock mode appears to be bugged. You can set it in ESC lock mode, but then you can't get to the backtick/tilde anymore.

I just keep the escape activated and have a system-wide mapping of Ctrl+z to bring up the `, and Shift+Ctrl+z for the tilde.
Curious about the feel of metal poker.
