I bumped into this keyboard.

its an inexpensive gaming keyboard with mechanical like keyswitches. I dont know what they are so please someone explain. they sound really nice and the keyboard looks solid and looks like an alternative to people to make transition to mechanical keyboards

The switches look like ordinary slider over rubber dome or slider over membrane mechanics, so just fancy rubberdomes with exchangable keycaps. As they say that it's a combination of mechanical and rubber dome keyboard it probably is either a fancy rubber dome, or something like the Cherry MY. Either way, not very desirable imho.

It might as well be some new mechanical switch, but I really doubt it.

hm it uses the bigass enter key just as my SS7G, i think the only "mechanical" thing about this is the white plastic slider which pressures the rubberdome instead of the keycap itself doing it on other rubberdomes.

So when this is done by Topre switches they are awesome and worth 300$ , and some other brand does this and it is worthless and "just another crap" ? :=)

Kidding. Isnt this similar to it seriously? Because it sounds identical at least.

They're common in that they are both "dome with slider" boards but that's about where the similarities end.

Topre is capacitive and the Knucker is very likely membrane. I've never used the Knucker before but I can almost guarantee it's not of the same build quality as a Topre board. Most people here could tell you the myriad other reasons why Topre is better but to answer your question bluntly:

i just now noticed i should have made my post above a little more questionable.
all i wrote is pure speculation and afaik ive never typed on a tope board before so i cant make out the similarities or differences.

There are a lot of factors that contribute to the feeling of a key. Considering that many people bottom out anyway a rubber dome is not technically worse than a Topre. (The main benefit of the capacitive technology in Topres is that you don't have to completely press the key for it to register but most people do so anyway. Topres are just generally very well built.) This is consistent with people liking some high quality rubber domes. What was that Dell again?
