I'm looking for a mechanical ergo keyboard and I've liked the looks of the Kinesis Freestyle.
Can anyone tell their experience with this keyboard or a similar ergo keyboard.
Are the switches mechanical?

Nope, it's rubber dome, however pretty good one. If you are looking for mechanical ergo keyboard, the Kinesis Advantage would be one to consider, here's the latest variant:

Yeah I read that article but its definitely a bulky keyboard, too big for me. It would alarm my work team mates ^^.

Too big? It's not big, at all. It's way smaller than a standard 102-105 keyboard. I'm using mine at home and work for years, it's rare to hear a comment about it from a surprised co-worker, maybe once a year, and I get lots of visitors.
I installed these Soft-Landing pads:

so it's quiet as a mouse.
I have a black one at work, on a black keyboard tray (fits in a mini tray just fine) so it's not noticeable. My home one, even on a tray would be noticeable though: :-)

I have recently started to use a Kinesis advantage and I must say that I have totally fallen in love with everything about it. Awesome key layout!!!

Advantage LF, such a tempting keyboard...

This will be hard, trying to convince oneself not to get it!

Resistance is futile. After you get it you will kick yourself for not getting it earlier :-)

Either way, if your still after a freestyle, this could work out being a good deal...
