Ultimate Room Tour

This is probably the most ridiculous room I've ever seen in my life.
Yes it is clean, what I really like but the ammount of apple products is so ridiculously high that I had to laugh when I saw his coffee table made out of two MacPro cases!

Maybe you like it:

I like the desk and them draws with the e-mac on it

way too tidy and white for my taste :)

well yes white is not the best i would like a dark grey for the desks but still they are a nice layout and size

iMac. My standing desktop! Great sound when you have the (included but often missing) speakers.

gotta try standing desks myself. I love your setup Murium. I'm a big fan of mixing old an new technologies.

Old and older, in my case. That chest of drawers / desk is in a dark corner of the house, as this picture better shows:

I might go a bit Brazil if I can figure out how to make a beamspring and an old round iMac share the narrow desk space.

That guy in the video is a total jerk imho... It wouldn't suprise me if he has Steve Jobs rotten toe somewhere in a jar!

as much as i love a multi monitor setup who needs 6 screens ? 2 is default for me 3 would be nice but 6 ? they are too high to use IMO and well i would rather have 3 high res screens than 6 1080p screens. Now all we need is for 16:10 4k displays to exist.

I'm not a big fan of multi-monitor setup, I always end up using one of them 90% of the time. Now I'm settled on 27" which offers quite some real estate

Yes, that room is really a symbol of hype. 6 monitors though are the dream of any flight simulator fan* (Rise of Flight, Sturmovik, DCS), provided the video card & CPU are able to handle the resolution.

*) Of course, since i see no joystick, pedals or TrackIR unit, i presume that's not a flight sim fan's room.

just have 2 2560 x 1600 displays :P

i do prefer 16:10 but i had to settle for a 27 inch 2560 x 1440 as it was so cheap i could not justify the extra cost for the 30 inch version
my second screen is only a 1920x1200

in work i use 2x 1680x1050

A cheap 27 inch 2560x1440 monitor? Tell us more!

Yeah, tease!

Anyway, I've got my eye* on this for Thursday:

Definitely won't be cheap. But one hell of an upgrade over my 11 year old iMac!

*Well, you window shop with your eyes too…

Mm, that's a really stylish waste-paper basket there under his desk! Bet that was expensive. ;)

i got a hazro hz27wb ( the one with the cool metal stand ) on sale for about £390 end of line stuff

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/hazro_hz27wb.htm

had to send the first one back as the backlight bleed was crap and it had no dual link DVI cable with it but the replacement was fine .

see below for my video of the backlight bleed ( its normal to send them like 6 photos and a video when you return a product right ?)

I have a cheap one bought from Korea. Crossover 27q. That I have modded with another controller card so it can output 120hz.
A little log here if you are interested:
http://overlordforum.com/topic/459-mod- ... th-oc-pcb/

My friend bought a Qnix and is happy with that.
A warning though... This is panels that are rejected by DELL Apple and such brands because they are not "perfect".
But I have had mine for ~2 years now and had no big problems.

Nice, thanks beltet! I was looking at the Korean "Wasabi Mango" ones on eBay, and they look great - sturdy construction, awesome resolution, really clear. At a price of about 250 euro, you can't go wrong. I'll definitely look up the Crossover. Very nice!

This thread's drifting into dangerously useful waters, guys. Back to irreverently off topic, stat!

Well, I dared to look at the first 20 YouTube comments, I hope I don't get a stomach ulcer.

YES SIR!

OT:
That guy must be autistic, how the hell can he keep it like that otherwise. Every single thing has it owns place. Even the "Simcard pusher" has it own place next to the g2pro hero.

the problem with a mind like that is it is never going to be satisfied. there will always be something out of place, or that cable in the wrong position, or a pillow that is not in the right color, or some dust on the sacred table.

Embrace asymmetry. Embrace chaos.

Sure, in some places. But you can go too far and let it all hang loose. Just have to pick your battles. For us, keyboards are sacred, and for me: symmetry has a welcome place there. If I didn't care, I'd still be using the kind of default Apple junk I presume this guy has. (Haven't bothered to watch the video. His place looks like it would give me a migraine.)

The juvenile brand adoration. The pillows by an ad broker which sells your privacy as a product. The guitars which will never be used except as wall decoration. The soullessness, the derivativeness, the lack of identity of it all.

and that's why I like webwit

Electrical guitars on the wall, no amp, no sign of a single plectrum! Gosh he is such a sassy poser.
I mean I play guitar myself and my plecs are literally everywhere! I found some of them even in my SOCKS!
