So I'm getting a couple of these in the mail. Can anyone help me with figuring out how I can hook this up and use it? If I get a Serial to USB Adapter, will I be able to use this with my computer? I think my dock at work has a Serial port, but I'd like to see if I can get it to work with any computer from the mouse-side so I can bring it around.

With the IBM Model M, I know you couldn't get it to work without a PS/2 to USB converter. Is that the same with the way a Serial port works? Am I going to need to find a converter, as opposed to just a passive adapter?
