Razer Naga led mod, voltages question

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with swapping the LED colors on a naga.
I opened it up and saw they appear to be SMD 0603 sized.
Now my concern is I did an LED mod on my phat 360 ring of light and in one controller.
I wanted to go with purple but I didn't know at the time purple needs more voltage to work properly.
So on the 360 front panel, it is fairly dim, and on the controller, it didnt even light up at all if working on a battery pack. Dimly if on full 1.5v double a's. I read if its wired directly, its a bit better.
Whereas blue and red light up a dark room on the same rechargable battery.
So the question comes down to if any one knows how the voltages are on the Naga and if anyone has a good understanding of LED colors, and the required voltages.
I did read in another thread how someone suggested going with whites as they always light up good, and some type of marker or spray to filter the white to the desired color.
