I just found this out. He's singlehandedly done so much for mechanical keyboards. Shame.

That link doesn't work for me.

I never met Neil. I do know he was an old IBMer.

A quick Google search turned up these heartwarming links:

https://www.kerrbrothersfuneralhome.com ... l&id=15305
https://www.echovita.com/us/obituaries/ ... s-12423360

I didn't realize he was only 64, I thought he was older.

clickykeyboards, do you have anything to add here?

Indeed, I found out too only yesterday. I'm sure we all can give our thanks to Neil for keeping the Model M spirit alive after IBM and Lexmark had lost faith. R.I.P.

Mr. Muyskens and I exchanged a few emails back and forth since 2004-2005. Towards the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and through the summer of 2020, I had been in communication with several inside contacts within Unicomp. It was not until I spoke with Unicomp regarding a custom order on Wednesday, March 10 did I hear the very sad news of his passing at his home with his wife by his side. His work to keep the buckling-spring keyboard design and US manufacturing alive and well in Lexington, Kentucky has done much for many people -- throughout the US and around the world.

I didnt know the man, but it's sad hearing someone so integral to the continuation of modern buckling spring keyboards has passed. my condolences.

At least he got to see this new chapter in Unicomp's history with the launch of the New M and Mini M, which both seem like significant leaps forward for Unicomp.
