This came out yesterday apparently, must have been another secret special order by some Chinese guys, that passed by our radar:




Lasered POM keycaps, Red switches, N-Key rollover.

Based on the Raptor K1 board, probably also features the USB hub, though I am not sure.

Available for 1200 Yuan (~182 USD) at TaoBao.
The outrageous special order price makes it probably lose compared to the limited edition filco with red.

That hub would be nice, but i'm not gonna drop that much for another Cherry.

This is another keyboard with the weird g80-1800 format. I thought to get a K1 for my first mech. keyboard because it is relatively cheap to buy at ebay.de. Besides from that i use the numblock a lot for gaming and need a big "0"-key, and so i dropped that idea.
If i want a space saver so i buy a tenkeyless board without any kind of num block.

Btw i ordered yesterday a Filco 105 Majestouch German Tactile keyboard from keyboardco .

I kinda like the 1800 layout. In fact I probably favor it over tenkeyless. The only quirk I have are the small ctrl/alt keys, which is no issue if you use a 1800 without windows keys though.

Yes, it's a good layout. Some people don't like it. But is a very good compact keyboard.

If you prefer tenkeyless, you could remap it to tenkeyless in software and remove the caps off the switches that you don't use. I considered doing that to my first G80-1800 when I first got it, but I got used to the layout before I could get my thumb out of my behind.

I am now used to using the numpad's nav keys instead of reaching for the cluster on top of the keyboard. I have noticed that I now sometimes use the numpad cursors even on "full size" boards.

Random fact of the day: A G80-1800 manages to be narrower than an IBM SSK despite having a full complement of 101 keys.
