A short review of the Ducky DK9087G2-BFIPTW

Hey everybody, this will be my first post on this amazing forum.
Just a heads up, I'm not super good with the english grammar and I will probably do lots of mistakes.

Back story
This Ducky keyboard is my second mechanical keyboard and it's the best so far to, (my first was a Steelseries 7G, and there wasn't many "mainstream" mechanical keyboards back then I bought it)
Though I have been intressted in lots of other keyboards while I had my 7G I was happy enough so I kept it for two years.
I was looking in for the HHKP2 for a long while but it would just break my bank. (I'm a 17 year old student of right now),
so I though I would look in to the Realforce section on the market but it's still to expensiv and is to big even for being a TKL.

So I looked back into the Cherry MX area again, and I still didn't find a good keyboard that was in my taste.
Then I found out the Inet (a Swedish reseller) was starting to sell these G2Pro keyboards and I was looking in to in as usual an I found out that they had all the "normal" Cherry switches and some more unusual, they had lots of different caps to, White, black, engraved ,laserd, and grayprint.
Then i saw the three letters "PBT" I looked it up and got thrilled about it, because I've had problems with blank keys before and I don't like it, and that it would give a better typing experince, witch it really dose.
So then I feel in love with it for being so great with all the epic fetures it has.
So I bought it and the Ducky TKL wristrest that I love to.

The review part

The typing feeling; is the best I've ever had, it's even better then the Model M (I know, I know it's legend wait for it..... Dary!)
But this is even more legendarier if that is a word.
The PBT caps gives a special tactile feel over the Brown switches of course, and it's even a larger joy over many of the keyboards I've tried.

The caps; is PBT as said before in the review.
Then I bought the keyboard I thought that the plastic would be thicker then it actually is, though it's not thin in any way, it's just not as thick Ithought it would be.
The caps may not be so thick but they sure is stiff, witch as i said before gives a nice tactile feel.
I guess as the plastic is harder then regular ABS it's not needed to be as thick as the high quality doubleshot caps is.
But the best part of the PBT caps is that they won't go blank nearly as fast as ABS plastic keycaps.
The the title suggests i choose the engaved ones over the grayprint as I think it looks more styleish.
And I was right in it being more styleish :) .

The funktions; is really great on this keyboard to.
It has a removable Mini USB connector so I can transport it really easy, it has dipswitches for your personal prefernce such as "Win key lock On/Off, Caps to Ctrl and vise versa, Alt to Winkey and vise versa, USB N-Key rollover On/Off."
Witch i find handy as i like the CTRL key to be in the Caps key.
It has LED's for the WASD keys witch i really don't care about but it's nice to have though if you're gaming I guess.
A Fn key with the standard media controlls.

Build quality; is reallllly great, it's a dual layer PCB and on top of is a metal midplate, the surrounding chassie for the keyboard is really nice to.
Even for being a quite small TKL small chassie keyboard it wight in at a hefty 1,2 kg or for you metric haters 2,6 lbs, witch gives the keyboard a great feel to it and stays really stabil on my table.

I would recomend it; IF you are a keyboard enhusiast and know whats different about it.
I gets a 95/100 (But as I have'nt tried so many keyboards I would've liked you should take my review with a grain of salt.)
Best regards // Fernlund

Welcome to the forum! I consider myself as a rather newbie as well. Thanks for your review! I personally think that there's never too many reviews :-) Don't worry about the grammar, you'll get away with it - hey this is a European forum! :D

Well, Jaffa the keycaps are made of PBT witch can be easliy cleaned if they get dirty, PBT is resistant against chemicals and it's resistant against dirt to.
So you should not worry :)
