You tricky 7bit!

I would also be interested in a more Gorton-esque interrobang, and would happily work on the legend (much as before, trace and tweak pics of SPH FUNCTION keys).

There are still slots available in HONEYB/FUNCTION, could you put one or two in there?

If not, what about a standalone key or two if we can find enough sales? ;)

Yay! I now correctly see that I owe a moderate pile of money.

I may amend my order to include multiple sets. I can always sell off the extras if I decide not to keep them. :-D

I could put in one. Just take care of the legend-design.

@Facet and @7bit Thank you to both of you.

Edit: If i have a say in it, I'd like Row 1 and Row 3. If that is too much to ask then no worries. As far as colorways go I'm all about matching any of the rest of the sets (my personal fav would probably be white on black) Also is the Gorton version less overlapping?

@Mu you almost got me :P

What is the deal with "legend44" "legend45" and "legend46" in e.g. HONEYB/FUNCTION/GREY? Is that an error?

First I thought, where would I put all of these FUNCTION keys?

Then I discovered this:
http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance- ... g-keyboard

Not exactly my style but perhaps I could change the switches for MX Clear, disable the backlight, and do something with all the extra keys.

Except there's no 6.5x space bar to fit that board, so you'd be stuck with the original.

Ideally, you order a Hyper keyboard, once they are all available.

Oh, that's a little tiny for my tastes. TKL is about right for me. What would I do without F5? I also use the navigation cluster plenty.

From Mu's TKL conversion project I got the idea of designing a PCB that you literally could hacksaw down to size. The function row, numeric keypad, and navigation cluster could be removed without affecting core functionality. They would have their own positions on a larger, perhaps sparser matrix, and the traces would not loop back across cutting lines. One PCB, multiple possibilities, though you do have a little bit of waste after cutting.

Cutting's a lot of bother. Why not give the sections sockets? In fact I can just hear Kbdfr interjecting that Tipro does this precisely! The alpha block could have the contoller and sockets on all edges for other modules to bolt on. You and I could slot in a nav block (arrow cluster and navigation sixpack) and speaking for myself I'd leave it at that! But a function row could pop on quite easily and a numpad on the left or right.

The tricky part is modular cases. Tipro's modularity includes the case but they only allow extension along one dimension: modules connect at the left and right.

Thank you 7bit! The legend will be committee'd out once I've got some tracing done.

I only have a row 1 ? SPH FUNCTION key, but I can see the structure is most of a circle, a line, and a little circle. With a suitably high res image to start from, I'll see just how much of challenge it'll be.

We appear to have one slot. Do you have a preference of row? In row 1 it would work nicely as replacement for 1 in a mono legend as well as a function key. In row 3 it's mainly a function key, or you have some interesting punctuation.
SL89 wrote: Also is the Gorton version less overlapping?
I haven't started yet! It can be as overlapping or not as we can agree. :)

Yes, everyone please submit ideas for legend 45 and legend 46 before I try to pollute the FUNCTION set any further!

@Facet, Row 1 is just dandy, i was just thinking of 1 & 3 a la the #! and Ducks! Even tho that was unintentional.

Also PM me with the Gorton look, I'm finding it hard to articulate exactly what i meant. :x

Yesssssss. Great, classic colors and lots of awesome legends. Looks like SP still can't get shif t right. The mu looks like it is also floating a little over baseline, if that matters.

I won't comment on the choices in case I bias the selection process! :o

"PANIC" however is already included in grey and red, rows 1 and 3
GPA grey row 1: HONEY/FUNCTION/R1
GPA grey row 3: HONEY/FUNCTIONR3
RAS red row 1: HONEY/PANIC/RED - 7bit: this key isn't in the photo from SP! :?
RAS red row 3: HONEY/FUNCTION/RED and HONEY/FUNCTION/RED/OVR1

Row 1 sounds good to me. Together they'd be like the hashbangs, the new key complementing the row 3 key in FUNCTION2 with its different legend.

As soon as I have the first idea of where I'm going with the legend I'll let you know! I'll stick up a topic for it too to save clutter (hahaha, 6865 posts over 229 pages) here.

It does, but I'll use it as an Escape really, so… are these final?

I'll have to change some plans, but I'll certainly have enough keys to work around it!

Looking back, the row wasn't discussed at the time, an even more rookie me didn't even mention the preferred row.

I was just getting to that, it does look too high to me. What'd ya reckon 7bit?

Also, black stepped caps lock? :/

Speaking of ASCII faces, they're looking good, though the duck-rabbit is nearer the rabbit end of the spectrum, or indeed the point of origin!

There really should have been a kit with Matt's duck mods as standard, with all return and enter keys featuring the legend "ENTE".
