The behavior of AltGr is closer to Shift than to Alt, isn't it? Reading about ISO/IEC 9995 on Wikipedia, Shift activates the second level keys and AltGr the third, whereas Alt is a function key. That's why I suggested the double arrow ⇮ symbol for it, similar to Shift.

Always found AltGr to be very poorly named.

Not that I use it much myself, mind you, as I use US-EN or US-INTL, but it's been on most keyboards with accents, diacritics and such that I've seen.

I'm not arguing the functionality, more the naming. Do you really need an AltGr when you have an Alt?

The double arrow symbol is nice though

Ah, gotcha. Do you envision using the FN key for that, then?

The pro kit will be already pretty expensive due to the long keys. If I add AltGr I have to add 3 more keys (1u, 1.25u, 1.50u I guess). It's fine by me, but I wouldn't make such an important kit too expensive.

What's the likely cost? I don't use Alt Gr (Option assumes its rôle on a Mac) but I can sympathise with those who want it.

True. It's not ideal for the purists, but I think the "super" or "option" legend, and to a degree "fn", fits that operation better than "altgr" does.

I then have a question about the multicolored legends, however. The plan is to color the second level symbols and SHIFT one color, and the third level symbols another, right? Will you also color a particular mod key using the third level color?

sincerely I would keep all legends black apart for the third one that will be blue (and side printed).

I would like to offer a second RGB set though with RGB legends and gray keys.

edit: Muir, I don't really know about PBT pricing. Next week I'll ask the first quote.

AltGr?
Supposing AltGr is added, we will also need a Meta key and Compose key

We already have perfect international kit so we should keep this way with an alt gr.

According to me 1.25 u ALT GR should be in the ISO kit, and we should maybe add a 1.5 u and a 1 u alt gr in pro kit.

UK should be alone or in the international kit.

I think that what 7bit did for Round 5 was pretty logical.

Only a thought, it is your GB.

i agree meta should be in the base kit and menu/command in pro kit with a win keycaps. The goal is clearly not to finish with a lot of kit so that could be great options if the prices are not too high.

Regarding mono-legends, like I said, I can't add all letters for all languages, that would become a really insane kit. I could make a mono-legend international kit, but again it would quickly become a 90+ keys set.
I know that is impossible to add a Ç in mono kit, I was thinking about in the language kit since the de .: and ,; are common to bépo. But I truly understand that's not possible to add a key only used by me (and maybe two others) it's even a huge improvement if you add the ` in mono kit :)

To me, AltGr is just a third layer and I don't give a frak if the legend is different but it's used even in intl-qwerty and colemak so it will be nice to have a different key into the main set instead of iso kit (I'll buy both of those but ansi kb owners who need it wouldn't have to buy an entire set for just one key)

Tomorrow I'll post an International Mono-Legend, let's see if we can keep it around 50 keys.

AltGr in the ISO kit. UK is already in the international kit 2 and will be removed from the ISO kit.

Nerdom needs to be revised, unfortunately I'll have to remove all copyrighted material. If you have any idea please let me know.

Ergodox to be defined OR left blank.

If all goes as planned on Monday we will have the quote, I'll post the final kits and we can start the GB.

Please note that once finalized we cannot change the kits nor add new ones.

That will be a dream to me but I stay lucid, I'm quite sure it won't be popular. Thanks to try to give it a shot, I really appreciate your effort Matt !

What about dinosaur keys for the Nerdom ? We must all loved dinos at least in our childhood. Moreover a stegosaurus and a tyrannosaurus rex is so Firefly "curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"

Something about Cthulhu can reach some adepts too :D

Count me in for Cyrillic. And Greek. And, ah the hell with it, how much does a dye sub factory cost?

What can safely stay is:
- DT
- GH
- Atom
- glider
- Pi
- panic mac
- debian

I'd like to keep Amiga A but I got no high res image, so it has to go.

I'll try to add the cyrillic set, I don't know if it can reach the MOQ.

worth noting that as long as we do not add/remove keys, the nerdom symbols can change up to the very last day.

Base Kit: PGDW --> PGDN, please?

Also, left and right side modifiers need more work. I guess part of this was introduced as hidden puzzle before.

I kinda wish I could get a \| 1x key in a smaller set. Its the only key I have thats not covered in 1x by the base or ergo kit!

Maybe some nice person can sell me theirs after the group buy ships ^_^

Fantastic! International mono legend kit looks a must buy: you've got my beloved § and µ in there!

Notes:
  • This is back to being a single colour scheme GB now, right?
  • Still really want my chevron Control symbols, in the Apple Pear kit?
  • I was about to suggest a narrower § symbol, but then I checked Gotham and it is indeed wide like that. I'll defer to Hoefler and Frere-Jones.
  • Finally: where's the duck?
Anyway, this GB is looking like the best DSA ever. Mono legends, lots of language support, good looking media keys, and a robot. Sold!

Just don't make the deadline too soon: I'm going to have to save up for all this. I want practically the whole lot.
