I am running this interest check thread on geekhack and I'll be keeping a combined total on both threads.
Topre won't allow direct orders so I figured that the best bet would be to raise enough interest to compel Elitekeyboards into ordering them
Obviously if your interest is registered already on the geekhack thread you don't need to register it here.

Hello All,

I am gauging interest in a set of keycaps as described in the thread title to suit a Topre REALFORCE 87U/104U keyboard.
Red lettering on white keycaps similar to the 'Red Alert' (all credit to sixty and co. for the naming) keycap group buy on deskthority.
Elitekeyboards have expressed a slight interest but have some reservations about how popular these would be, which I completely understand; but let's prove them wrong

This prototype board has the exact keys that I have in mind:

Yes, it was.

To summarise it for those here, EK aren't interested because they don't think it's financially a good move for them. They think that they will not be able to move a minimum order of these keycaps in less than a year which I think is wrong but hey, I don't run a business so whatever. The response from EK was not from Brian either so I'm not sure if he's even seen the request.

Anyway, I've mentioned this thread to the gentleman, Taeyoung now.
He has contacted Leopold and spoke with a staff member there who asked me to send them an e-mail about it and Taeyoung has also mentioned it on KBDMania here: http://www.kbdmania.net/xe/3710527

The responses there so far look to be all to do with geekhack having a virus (oh dear). I probably should have recommended he link to the deskthority thread (sorry Taeyoung I feel responsible and embarrassed about this).

Of course, the problem with Leopold is that international users will have a hard time getting hold of stuff from Korea and I'd imagine if Topre make them they would be exclusive to that distributor, although the coloured sets don't seem to be so who knows. EK's response was really a punch in the nuts for me because I seriously thought they'd go for it given the initial interest

Would it be worthwhile to add another spacebar for compatibility with 103/86 boards?

dananglabs this isn't actually a group buy.
The aim here was to raise enough interest to compel one of the distributors to make a custom order with Topre.
Initially this was going to be EliteKeybaords, but unfortunately they are not interested.

The latest news was that cactux is going to approach iomania and see if they are interested.
If you are still interested, let me know and I'll put you down for one set.

figured i'd post over here since the GH thread is big. i expressed interest but probably wouldn't buy a set if they are over $120. if they are gonna be much more than $120 i'd rather just get a colored set from EK.
