Is there any information on whether there will ever be an iso variant?

by NewGuy
Yeah, if it's going to be 12–14 weeks for an MX Red board, I don't mind waiting for however long it takes to get an ISO one.

8,60 uninsured (I would not trust it for the love of god). 10,60 insured but not traceable, 17,00 EUR insured and traceable.

The Japanese layout they offer has a Japanese sized spacebar and all that. I don't think there is any variant with Japanese languages and ANSI layout planned.

I do a lot of PC maintenance, BIOS, OS installs, etc.
Will the Fn layer work during bootup for the usual keys F2 F8 F10 Del etc. ?
Edit: Also can the Fn key be used in AutoHotKey combinations? eg: Ctrl/Alt + Fn + 1/2/3/4

sixty, did you already send the invoices? Just asking because I noticed you were supposed to send them when the MOQ was reached, and it was already. Or are you waiting for 40 orders before you send the invoices?

Posted: 16 Mar 2011, 12:34
by sixty
I'm trying to get 40 to have no people waiting and to get all out in one order, but if its impossible I'll go with what we have at the end of the week.

We can probably order them, but I doubt we reach the MOQ (20 pieces).

Posted: 16 Mar 2011, 18:22
by runeazn
can you try it?
as there were like 9 already that wanted it.
as you do now 40 pieces..

and what about the stabilizers like the ducky(cherry) or like filco(iron wires)?

According to this pics from Sixty:

They have Cherry stabilizers.

BTW If a JP layout that includes ISO enter can be done I first want to see pics. For sure it will be difficult to find key replacement!

if you can solder and switch the places from the switches sure you can..
thats what i am going to do..
when i CAN order the Jp layout ill just try to mod it to accept the ANSI key from my Ducky, but hey if it doesnt i dont mind i have used the dutch layout which has the same enter key for years.

and if he doesnt want to ship jp layout ill buy the ANSI

So if I was to go for a blue and red board, I'm looking at 136€? Postage to Northern Ireland will be what? And these should work OK with OSX

Also, am I likely to get hit with VAT charges?

Is it possible to order this keyboard in the finnish/swedish (which is the same) layout? I'd probably order both a Red and a Brown if this was the case.

ANSI US only for now.

I would assume 19% German VAT is included in the quoted price? if sixty is receiving these in Germany the packages are already within the EU zone, so you shouldn't expect another VAT charge.

Is it possible for you to make an enquiry with the KBC guys and see if they would consider an modified layout for ISO, and if so, minimum order quantity for it to be viable? I think when this was discussed before it was concluded that the Fn key would need to move to make way for the AltGr, so it may not be 100% trivial to adjust the production set up.

I should've asked this sooner, but knowing either way before the deadline may help with the decision.

The taxes are already included in the price we are selling them for. You will only have to pay shipping costs on top of the listed price. Depending on where you are in Europe, these will vary from EUR 7,00 to EUR 17,00. Possibly less if I manage to get a business contract with DHL going before.

I already contacted KBC and asked for the chances of an ISO layout. So far awaiting response.
