Taobao Aluminum G80-3000 TKL GB?

So I found these listings on taobao:

https://2.taobao.com/item.htm?id=552118592566
https://2.taobao.com/item.htm?id=550075421585

for what seems to be a pretty damn accurate looking aluminum, tenkeyless g80-3000 group buy being run through some sort of chat app (qq? wechat? not sure).

I messaged the kbdfans & zfrontier guys to see if they'd be willing to proxy it for people outside of China, but I figured it also wouldn't be a bad idea to post on here and gauge interest. Google Translate isn't a big help on either listing, so if somebody who knows Chinese could translate the listings/relevant info in the description, comments, etc. that'd be super nice as well.

Btw there was a similar project (fullsize) on Geekhack, but I think it failed. https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=83701.0

Anyone know what the deal is with the price? $20 AUD just doesn't seem right for this...as nice as that would be lol.

Yeah, I was wondering the same. Running them through the translation on bhiner.com you get "Customized package class" and "# Original keyboard # customization kit" so I assume they're add-ons for the main sale.

What a nice homage to the old g80 cases, this time just with proper material.
Really damn nice!

Is there even a Leeku PCB in this format? Could always just hack up the PCB of a cheapo G80.

There was a GB for a Leeku G80 PCB long time ago.

Was it TKL?
Seems kinda niche to do that unless there was some case to go along with it.

Can't you use a phantom pcb in it ?

Leeku could have done a "featuring" and make a tkl pcb just for this case ?

That's not that much for that amount of machined aluminium.

That's a stiff price.

It kind of is - it's 2500 for just the case, plus another 320 for a PCB. Even if one of us could grab it, this thing could pretty easily reach $500 shipped. For reference, you could get a TX1800/TXCP for less than that (and the quality, weight, customer service, etc. are guaranteed to be better).

I was hoping it'd be <=$300 - maybe R2 will be a proper GB with significantly lower prices? I've always wanted a tenkeyless g80-3k style keyboard :(

I recall the steep price was the reason for the lack of interest in the original fullsize IC on geekhack. And this one is even more expensive, considering you'd need to buy a new PCB (or hack up an existing one). Still very pretty though.

A GB for a 100-150$ case that fits a standard Cherry G80-3000 I would jump on in a heart beat.

But yeah, 300-400$ is pricy. Well out of my range of consideration.

actually 2500 is case + pcb + light module(for replace pause, scroll lock, print screen) and 3 light stickers

OK this is more like it...still expensive but I'd totally go for that.
w4newang are you following this closely yourself or are you involved with the project somehow?

I contacted KBDfans about reaching out to the guy and running a buy for these as well, but apparently they already tried and didn't have much luck. feelsbadman :<
