Tipro symmetric stagger

This is one of the 122 key Tipro keyboards 7bit got, equipped with a symmetric stagger layout. This layout is super! I only would like it to be more like a square and less like a trapezoid. This is my work keyboard; desoldered the buzzer ;)

The left lower 1.5 key shifts to layer 3 which has numbers under DELETE and M<>JKLUIO. SYMB and NUMB switches between layer 1 and 4, which has symbols and numbers on the ESC row respectively. FUN switches to layer 2 - the HHKB layer. \| and ] are not swapped, I just didn't have matching keycaps.

The funny v2 key is C-F which is my prefix key in Stumpwm :ugeek:

Highly recommended!

It would have been so easy: Just remove the black cap and remove the plate inside. shut the cap and it will never beep again.

I see you need more keys in the FUNCTION kit.

What was underneath the black squares? Are these hotkeys to pron sites?
:P

Does FUN serve as RETURN?

So what is RETURN?

Also, which key caps do you need?

Oh! The best part of that adventure was when I realised that I didn't have to desolder anything after all to disconnect the controller

Haha no. It's 'confidential information about work' - what they do is change groups in stumpwm.

Most of the blank keys have functions (or will have when I'm finished writing my stumpwm interface for tmux :ugeek:), I'm just too lazy to make labels ...

I tried to just rip it off, then I had the cap in my hands and the plate fell out.

Select, between G and H, is return!

For this layout I'd need a 1.5 unit ]}, normal colour; 1 unit \|, normal colour; 1.5 unit /?, normal colour. I think there is a asdf layer return in what I've ordered.

I think I'll use one of the 1.5 square/circle for the number switcher. Is there anything that might be used for stumpwm prefix (v2)? I'll have to look!

I'm using ETC from row 2 as return key for row 3.

I can't remember why I did not include a RETURN or RET key in Round 3.

1 unit \| for row 2, lets see ...

grep vert orders*.val | grep slash | grep R2
orders_BLOOD.val:R2U150 |42|(\myvert,\mybackslash) |1
orders_NOIR.val:R2U150 | 48|(\myvert,\mybackslash) |1
orders_ORANJE.val:R2U150 | 54|(\myvert,\mybackslash) |1
orders_RETRO.val:R2U150 | 99|(\myvert,\mybackslash) COLORTWO|1
orders_RETRO.val:R2U150 |100|(\myvert,\mybackslash) |1
orders_ROUND3.val:R2U150 | 93|(\myvert,\mybackslash) COLORTWO|1
orders_ROUND3.val:R2U150 | 12|(\myvert,\mybackslash) |1
orders_SPH.val:R2U150 | 69|(\myvert,\mybackslash) COLORTWO|1
orders_SPH.val:R2U150 | 1|(\myvert,\mybackslash) |1

Shit!

I've got it for row 1, 3 and 4. Why not for row 2?

Oh well ...

Or a 1 unit row 4 back space :) I'm using delete instead.

It's very possible that something like that was in R3, but without a 1.5 ]} ..

---------------------------------

No reason to put in more keys and make it even more expensive!

Just send me a list.

For SPH the 1 unit keys are no problem, but the 1.5 units }] will be.

Alright, I'll have a look at it and compare with the current sets.

Very nice, have you had a hard time adjusting to it?

No, it was not that hard. The worst part is the shift keys, and I sometimes press select instead of h. Should have a stiffer spring there.

Regarding the symmetric staggering, it's just like a matrix layout except that the keycaps are not turned so the finger travel is slightly increased. I like this much more than the regular asymmetric layout.

It's a nice layout, very uTron.

Webwit's post about the μTron's shift placements was the inspiration for the shift keys. And I thought that it would be better to change it more than less, to avoid confusion with regular keyboards.

Very nice, I like the shifts in the middle too. Currently added keys to my Kinesis to shift with the thumbs, anything to relieve the pinkies is good!
