My Bolt-modded SSK

It is finally done. Thanks to Half-Saint for Bolt-Modding it and selling me the industrial shell. It was originally ANSI layout.
Thanks also go to Webwit for the original Sticker.
I am currently using a set of caps from an AMBRA Model M, though I am considering spicing it up with some RGB modifiers, red esc, or geekhack keys. If I change it around ill post another picture.
In any case, I am VERY happy right now

please bear with me...google translate
Please excuse if this comes out as gibberish.
请原谅如果这个出来为乱码。
苹果艾斯克将亵渎。不过,我想M型安布拉圆滑全白的面貌。
Apple SSK would be blasphemy. Still, I like the sleek all white look of the Model M Ambra.

The Ambra caps on an IBM :O, I'll allow it since it is a save saver though

This came out really nice. The contrast between the keycaps and the case came out surprisingly well

You're welcome

I think it's the same color keys as IBM Model M keys. Camera white balance.
Edit: Whoops. Maybe not.

Not the same, Model M keys are more creamy while Ambra keys are white-blueish...

I have for some time been thinking how nice a Industrial Model M SSK ISO would be, this one is amazing and confirmed my thoughts... Gz Ascaii, hope I helped to fund it a little

I like the white Ambra keycaps. But on an Industrial Space Saving keyboard? Blasphemy! Same with RGB keys. Black keycaps, now there's something.
I guess an original Industrial SSK is still the most expensive SSK
ever sold. I think only
The Last Mini would go for more at this point.

ANSI to ISO conversion? How?!

This reminds me of my Ambra keyboard:
Anybody wants to buy it?

The Ambra would be the perfect BS replacement keyboard for an Indy workstation.

This reminds me that QWERTZ sucks.

Just swap the keycaps (Y and Z) and you are done.
IBM Buckling spring keyboards have interchangable key caps which are the same profile accross all rows.
You are not so familiar with these keyboards aren't you?

Just swap the keycaps (Y and Z) and you are done.
And you have a German ISO layout with the Y and Z swapped. It also sucks!

Now, you can send it over to HalfSaint. He can make the reverse ISO mod. Which turns an ISO layout Model M into an ANSI.
Also, didn't you metion somewhere that you don't look at the keys while typing? So why do you care?
Just shuffle the caps around until the layout looks like BEPO backwards and impress people with your typing abilities.

I like the one with the classic color-scheme more.
At least, I will have an industrial grey shell without an oval label, rellay soon!

Just refund me 50% of the money for the Olivetti G80-3000, and I will tell you the full inside(r) story!

Too late for that!
Or too early, for I haven't seen that money yet. I guess it takes some days to be transfered?
EDIT: Looking forward to your pics!

The last mini (2007) was bought from Unicomp by iMav from gh for $50 or $70 or something in that range. When he wanted to order another one, they told him they couldn't and that the previous one wast he last one, the last mini. They ran out of some part or worn out some part of machinery, which would require substantial reinvestment. Then iMav sold it to me because he was buying a motorcycle or something nerdy like that. Later Unicomp did sell some more minis, but those were new old stock from the early nineties with old labels.

Now that you told that story yourself, I lost 72 EUR!
The get back on topic:
The clasic beige key caps look way better on the industrial grey keyboard than the Ambra keys.
Same for the Ambra itself. It looks better with its own key caps.
Some colors simply don't match (they bite at each other).

That's because I sold it for 70!
