So, here is the story.
I bought a New Model M back when they first came out. I got the USB model and regretted that decision when I realized I really wanted to use a Soarer's Converter with it.
A few weeks ago, I reached out to Unicomp and asked them if there was a way to convert the New Model M from USB to PS/2. The told me the membrane is compatible with both. I just needed to order a new controller and cable. $35.00 later, and the controller came in the mail:
I did the surgery at lunchtime today.
As you can see, the PS/2 controller board has green LEDs on it, instead of blue.
Working great with the Soarer's Converter now.
Anyone know whart that empty socket at U2 is for?

Looks great! I don't know why companies keep putting blue LED's in devices. I love my old Filco Majestouch but why did they choose blue LED's?
Did you consider using a software like Autohotkey for the remapping of keys?

I'm not sure but it may be a diagnostic port.

It's my work computer. I'm not allowed to install anything. I had AutoHotKey on my work computer and had a meeting with HR over it.
