Micro Switch 76SD5-3 / SD-16126

What a looker! I could not pass this unique Micro Switch board. It seems that this keyboard was never used, let alone entirely finished back in 1982. The module itself just sits inside the case without any screws with just a bit of old newspaper to help keep things in place which doesn't do a great job. This case has some beefy screw posts with threaded brass inserts yet the metal plate doesn't come close to reaching. It seems that someone had started to retrofit this keyboard module into this case. The layout matches the case but likely the case was molded for a different module and they did not make a different mold for a Micro Switch board.

The period specific newspaper filling, the ghostly hand, the familiar yet badly matched case… and yet that fantastic PCB with glorious Futura even for resistors and some of the best linear switches, and double shot caps, ever made! It’s like a Pharaoh’s tomb. Right down to being sealed in a hurry and subsequently forgotten. Else you’d never find him, Tutankhamun!

Good luck bringing it back to life. The controller is the hard part. Needs a Rosetta Stone or greater minds than I’ve tapped.

Cool. Wonder if my SD-16604 could work with this? I’m not knowledgeable enough to even begin to know.

Lol I guess that's one way to hold down something while you paint it.
