IBM Industrial SSK - P/N 41G3600

I managed to kill two birds with one stone by getting this keyboard. I wanted an industrial Model M and an SSK, but never did I imagine that I'd be able to accomplish both in a single keyboard. I found this on Facebook Marketplace, just by chance while asking the seller about a keyboard they were selling.

The P/N is 41G3600, with the dot matrix style label. It seems to be the 79th one made, and it has no drainage holes. It also came with a weird cable with six pins, but the keyboard itself outputs PS/2. (Pictured is a cable from a full-size Model M as the original one is very dirty and needs some cleaning first)

Overall, it's a cool variant of the SSK, and it really stands out from the rest of my collection in terms of typing feel and looks. Luckily most of the rivets are intact, so it doesn't warrant a bolt mod, but the arrow keys feel a bit mushy since there are rivets missing from that area.

Nice to see the industrial gray 41G3600 model M keyboard with the IBM black SDL cable.

Yes it's really nice to see the industrial gray 41G3600 model M keyboard with the IBM black SDL cable, would be even better if it was ISO :ugeek:

I have an SSK coming in that I'd love to put a metal plate into for an FSSK mod.
Dayum, son! You weren't kidding, were you?

Beautiful board. I'd be well tempted to upgrade the innards so the feel matches the looks, too. My FSSK upgrade candidate is a mere beige label SSK, but it's in even more in need of a bolt mod than yours so I’m eager to get operating!

If I remeber correctly, Webwit (black duck) had two Industrial SSK and was hording it like the crown jewels.

I have two NIB (broken rivets et al) SSKs hidden somewhere in some drawer where I can't find them....tried to find a NIB/NOS Industrial SSK but sadly no luck for me.

Lucky you.

That's a spectacular find!

Think most of the industrial SSKs I've seen pictures of have been the Mopar version.

Yeah, the non-Mopar indy SSK's seem to be much rarer for some reason. My theory is that the indy SSK's weren't very popular with those who ordered industrial computers, but Mopar ordered a lot of indy SSK's with custom keycaps for their diagnostic systems, so they're more common (albeit still rare).
