I know, this isn't new, but I saw these today at the Campus Party Berlin, so I thought, I could share the photos.

The keyboard is a modded IBM Model M. The other things on his desk are a telephone (to the left) and an automatic Email printer (the glass tube on the right)

Love it! I wish my computer was brain powered. But I am surprised he didn't mod the SDL cable as it really sticks out.

It might have been hard to come by a single SDL connector.

Isn't an SDL connector just a CAT6 or RJ45 end? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Not quite; on an SDL connector there is a clip on both sides rather than a single clip on top, making the SDL connector wider than a CAT6 connector.

Na, special IBM proprietary plug. The guy on ebay that sells those USB SDL connectors told me that the tool to press them together (like the ones for RJ-45) is bloody expensive ($400+), and you have to buy the custom SDL connectors in batches of 1000.

This is the item I am talking about, this steampunk kit needs one of em.

I love the Copper tube based Rodent. Really nice. In fact you can dent the wall out by throwing it, and it won't get damaged. I wish they made all mice like that.........tough.

Although what's with the pressure Dial, on the left :?:
