Multitasking. You can cut your vegetables AND browse deskthority at the same time.

Looks quite nice bud. You could make a few cosmetic improvements? put a post on geekhack asking for a dolch moogle kit? I'd but the real escape on there would look a bit more balanced.

A cheap way to get that looking very nice would be to get a wyse doubleshot set from someone. I may have a very shiney set kicking around.,, Not as desirable as dolch I know but the legends would match.

Good idea to use ansi even if your in the uk mate, you'll have far more options available too you.

Apple offers this (along other functionality) in a lot more compact design!*

Funny you should mention it. The WYSE doubleshots here are from DangWang's recent sell off, the rest of it is in a bag :)

Yesterday, an old cherry MY 1800 arrived on the doorstep and I couldn't wait to clean up the keycaps and get them on. Here it is. You're right about the esc key. Put the cherry one on and the board looks better for it.

A dolch moogle kit would be marvellous - anybody have one? I'll post a WTB when my missus isn't looking...

... i have one, if i had two you'd have it... I can't help but hold out for a uk dolch set... :(

take a look at the sale thread on geekhack, you could get a list of buyers and maybe a list of people sitting on mod sets.

Another option, use white on black Cherry doubleshot for the modifiers and nav cluster. You can get all the keys you need and have a uniform set with the same key profile and legend font. White on black looks very nice with the white on grey alphas as well.

let's see if i'm not wrong:
modifers -> Wyse
Alpha block -> Dolch ?

escape -> Qwerkeys (that one was easy, i've got one).

nice setting.

2 out of 3. The alpha block is from an old cherry MY1800 board not a dolch. Though the two look practically the same to me.

I've never seen Dolch colorway on MY, what is the model on the bottom of the board they came on?

Since you're the second person to ask. I've attached a some additional photos. Have I got myself a good fake??

It's the usual G80-1813HFU from Dolch PAC stuck inside an 1800 casebody from another source. It's a frankenboard. I did the same thing myself. So basically you can ignore the bottom label as it is not the right one.

Ah okay - its the double shot keycaps in the colour that I wanted, the case has no value to me.

so yea frankenboard like lysol mentioned, which doesn't matter at all if its just the caps you were after. there are lots of these kind of boards listed on taobao all the time

it was the g81 MY part you said which through us for the loop. The g80-1813 PCB is actually quite nice, or if you don't care for that then you have 100 blue and 1 green switch to reuse =)

Right the G80-1813 is nice. If you don't want it you can still sell just that without the caps. Surely someone else would appreciate a nice winkeyless 1800 with blues and give a fair price for it. Or even if you harvest the switch, still offer the pcbs before trashing.

I'd put the keys back on the frankenboard and is it as is. Then get a dyesyb pbt set for filco.

Thanks everyone for setting me straight. You all sure know your keyboards! Once I've taken the parts from the frankenboard I want to keep, I'll sell off the PCB and switches.

Now... someone must've modded a filco to accept a coiled PS2 cable...

I'll be interested if you are selling your PCB, switches and case (always wanted an 1800).

Would also be interested in the case, pcb and switches.
