Yep, as far as I remember this one was a special one from a Chinese forum, so low quantities were made. Where did you grab it?

If I'm not mistaken, Cherry resets their serials every year. So the 5000 would be the first one produced in 1998, and the 3484 the first one produced in 2006.

Serials reset for every model (including OEM variations) and every batch or revision.

Cherry G80-3484HKCUS were not that rare as far as I remember. I mean they were more expensive yes, but you could purchase it in S.Korea no problems. I wasn't interested in full layouts so I didn't bother but this was a few years ago so may be they're hard to get now.

actually i saw an ebay auction few days ago with one of these. if you buy over taobao you can purchase one easily.

3484s only use brown...
And they are not rare at all, I guess around 1000.

hmm don't know. 1000 is not many, I believe there are many more MX5000 then if you look at the serial number.
