I recently came across a 1995 Model M, unfortunately it has rubber dome switches (71G4644). So i have no use for it or interest in using it for anything since I already own a 1391401 model M. Are there any sort of projects/mods/alterations or any sort of crafts you can do with an old keyboard like this one that will make it get used? I'm talking anything! From making necklaces from the keys to turning it into a flowerbed, i just don't want to throw it out or let it sit in storage.
Also, first post. I love this community and all it has to offer. I'm glad i found such a website that caters to this unique hobby we all have.
Thanks in advance!

[quote="Djuzuh"]I think a keyboard fixed to the wall being used as key holder would be hilarious !
This is exactly the stuff I'm thinking of! Just little things to use them for with or without major changes to the board itself. Maybe i can find a way to have it shelf some 45 vinyl records of mine, or something like that.
Thanks for the reply!

Call up Unicomp, order spring/hammers, do a nut/bolt mod and a set of blank keys and make your own Das.
Or do what I do and drop spare Model Ms from 10 foot ladders and then burn or dissolve in chemicals.
FOR SCIENCE!

I COULD "just use it." But like i said, i already have a real buckling-spring model M, i am not in need of another pseudo model M.
Blank key/Das mod sounds fun, i just need to save some money for all of the caps and springs and such.

Any sort of documented cases of people doing this? I would really love to see pictures and a walk through of the process.ripster wrote:Call up Unicomp, order spring/hammers, do a nut/bolt mod and a set of blank keys and make your own Das.
