Replace USB with PS/2

Where do I start?

To cut to the chase I want to hack my Filco 10keyless and permanently replace the USB cable with a PS/2 cord I have laying around.

I don't want to hear any humdrum about "whats the point" or "that's stupid just use an adapter" or any other blah blah. I am sick of the big extendy purple dongle that is a PS/2 to USB adapter; it keeps coming out but straight PS/2 cords fit nice and snug. So, I just want to know how I can do it so I don't permanently shag my Filco ltd edition tenkeyless MX Red.

Suggestions appreciated. For those that are interested I'll photograph and post the surgery as it progresses.

Just replicate this simple patch circuit inside keyboard, and wire it to the controller:

All those USB socket to PS2 plug adapters are is a simple crossover of wires. Here is the adapter I am talking about, and purple and green are the same inside:
