Because Arduino clones are very cheap, I planned to use an Arduino with an ATmega 32U4 for my keyboard project. I already bought an Arduino Pro Micro. My Problem is, that the the following combinition does not work together:

• Arduino Pro Micro
• Windows 7 x64
• Renesas USB 3.0 Controller µPD720200A

When I connect the Arduino to my USB 3.0 ports, Windows fails to install drivers and the HID Keyboard does not show up, so trying to use the Arduino as Keyboard controller is pointless. I tried the Arduino both on my notebook with that USB 3.0 Controller and on a tower PC with a Renesas USB 3.0 PCIe card. If I boot Ubuntu, the Arduino works fine. It also works fine if I plug it into an USB 3.0 Port of the tower PC with the µPD720200 controller (without "A").

I wonder if buying another Arduino or a Teensy would solve the problem or if it is ATmega 32U4 related. Is there anybody with Windows 7 and a Renesas µPD720200A who could check if a Teensy or Arduino Leonardo/Micro connects on that port? Most Sandy Bridge Notebooks and PCIe USB 3.0 Cards use that Controller.
