The nominees in the category Best keycaps 2013 are:
APL triple-shot beam spring keycaps • Oooh, what's that you have there? A beam spring keyboard? Sure, the best of the best, but did you get it connected? Oh, you did. But what's that? Triple-shot keycaps? OMG DO WANT!
Original Cherry dye-sub PBT keycaps • Nothing beats the original! Thick, mean and strong plastic, these caps don't wear and don't get shiny as fast as other keycaps.
Retro DSA keycaps • Many people got great retro DSA keycaps thanks to matt3o's group buy. Finally you can transform your modern keyboard into a Commodore 64.
Round 4 spherical keycaps • 7bit's enormous Round 4 group buy was completed, resulting in lots and lots of keyboard porn.
Topre's HiPro keycaps • The Realforce HiPro ("High-Profile") is a full-size keyboard available in a couple of layouts, sporting high-quality Topre switches and spherical keycaps.
And the Wingnut for Best keycaps 2013, as voted for by the members of deskthority, goes to...
Spoiler:
Oooh, what's that you have there? A beam spring keyboard? Sure, the best of the best, but did you get it connected? Oh, you did. But what's that? Triple-shot keycaps? OMG DO WANT!
The best kind of keycap on the best kind of tactile keyboard switch.

It seems to be beamspring keyboards are the most popular these days.

A big night for IBM in the DT awards this year. Wonder if anyone who was actually there back in the day might be up for collecting the prizes?

All IBM people I ever knew in person are buried already, face down 9-edge first!

I know a old engineer who worked at IBM in the seventies and was "outphased" in the late 80s at age almost 50 when the mainframe age was over...
OK, he might try to burn the wingnut ...

I doubt IBM will claim it, you got the Wingnut because these keycaps are your show, without your find and flaunting, it wouldn't have won, we wouldn't even know they existed.

You do deserve it. Those caps are the most beautiful ones I've ever seen.

I dunno, doesn't dedalus have tripleshot beamspring keycaps on that data-entry beamspring he has? I remember the post of pictures a while back.
Triple-shot keycaps are great! All mine are for hall effect, but very impressive nonetheless. Thanks for posting all the excellent pictures of them mr_A500!

I better start my acceptance speech then... ahem... "I'd like to thank all the little moneys that made this win possible. Sadly those moneys could no longer be with us - but they will be fondly remembered." (wipes away tear) "I'd also like to thank the mail lady, my key puller, isopropyl alcohol..." (17 minutes later, still thanking..) "...my tea pot, waffle iron and three of my pet sheep..." (half an hour passes) "...and of course I have to thank 1 hour dry cleaning, my toaster oven, knee socks..." (music starts cutting me off) "WE MADE IT, MA! TOP OF THE WORLD!" (two thugs in tuxedos grab me and escort me off the stage, to a back room where I am brutally beaten with a flexible rubber keyboard.)
