Your arguing semantics, religion, ideology it makes no difference. The ideas that this particular ideology/religion portrays are horrible, its not just the people who commit the shootings and bombings , the teachings of the general moderate are still to subjugate women , stone people to death for getting raped , kill people who leave the faith and so on.

Of course they know where they want to go and of course they are looking to get the best deal...I would too.

But if they need to be safe from war, shouldn't they be worried for the safety of their families(which are absent in refugee numbers) and not care as long as they are safe?

Yes that's right, many have to leave their family behind. Pretty horrible situation for them. Many even now go back by themselfs just to be reunited with their family.

Of course there are incentives. But not only positive incentives.
For example, I can imagine that Nigerians whose fields have been ruined by Shell oil spills would now like to live in the US. Of course they can't, they are "only" economic refugees.

Completely agree. I actually recently visited the museum at Auschwitz-Birkenau since I live reasonably close to it now. At the time I was totally dumbfounded by the similarities in attitudes. Truly horrifying. It made an already incredibly somber experience feel so much more real.
