Could someone quickly give me the dimensions of a Model M?

I'm looking at purchasing some keyboard boxes but I don't have a full size Model M on hand. I want to know if the boxes I have in mind will fit the Model M.

So that converts to 19.29 x 8.27 x 1.85 inches. Just about the same size as an XT, but a tad too long for the boxes I have in mind. Why can't these boxes just be 20 inches long? Why?

Which boxes do you have in mind?
I've shipped a full sized Model M successfully in a 20x12x4 Uline box:

There is almost no space on the ends of the box. The 24x12x4 offers more protection.
I would also consider the 20x12x3.

I'm going to guess you are talking about the ULINE keyboard boxes.

If so, yes a Model M does fit in these boxes, despite the quoted size.

If mailing in the US, the USPS large flat rate game boxes hold IBM keyboards fine, whether XT or 122 or M (I've mailed all). On XT and M you need a little more packing to fill the ends but I've found crumpled newspaper works well at filling that in.

Yes, but, $1.17/box for mine versus $2.35/box for yours.
Multiply by 100 and it starts to add up (even with volume discounts).

These fail sometimes. I've had issues. Make sure to tape the seams at the end of the box for additional reinforcement, they *will* burst open. As for the ends, I like to use the little air bags that I keep finding in my Amazon boxes.

Yea, you all are correct about the Uline keyboard boxes. I'm using these boxes for storage, not shipping, so I'm looking for the smallest vertical size possible while fitting my keyboards. I prefer the Uline keyboard boxes over larger sizes, and I have to order them in a minimum of 25 to get the best price at the local shipping supply company where I can do local pickup (which is way cheaper than Uline). I plan to sell the leftovers to anyone who is interested.
Ideally, I would prefer a size of 20x10x3, but I can't seem to find that size anywhere.
I have some of the USPS game board boxes and 24x12x4 boxes on hand for shipping, but those are larger than I prefer for storage purposes.
