Access-IS softprog- how to program second layer keys?

I have my up/down/left/right as other keys for my usual coding. I rarely use the arrows but sometimes I find they would be useful so would like them programmed but as shift/alternate keys. I couldnt figure out how to do it with softprog tho.

I managed to program the normal layer keys first time ...

same as the one in your picture you linked except it isnt all keys. it has somecut out at the bottom so the spacebar is the third line up so i can rest my hands in the cutout.

It's nice to see other access users around here :).

I have been posting on the linux forums and they are saying the problem is it's bieng recognized as a hub rather than a keyboard and udev might hold more insights.

I havent been able to delve further yet because I had to get my computer working ...

I thought I had hit paydirt when I came across this thread but to my severe frustration the thread ends with absolutely no resolution or leads towards one.

Well I'm having the exact same issue as that OP; spent all day installing linux only to be greeted with the realisation my beautiful new ...
