I love the way these boards look, and am trying to get at least one unit perfectly restored and functional. Upon removing the caps on the first one I acquired, I noticed the metal base plate that holds all of the switches was chipping paint and rusting. I have since obtained a second identical unit,

The Acer is 6311 with that elegant bend at the top and 2 sets of feet. The switch is Acer. Large keys rattle quite a bit, but overall, the switches feel pretty decent; the tactility is pleasant. The keyboard is reasonably small, I could find a practical use

I have done a few partial screw mods with good results. Hopefully the controller is good. That could become a real headache.

Update 2: It's fixed :)
After adjusting the back plate screws of this keyboard, the problem is fully, and i mean, FULLY fixed
Even the ⬆ is working as intended, what a surprise!
Membrane keyboards are just that much simpler i guess.
