New post [Keyboards] Difficulty setting up new xwhatsit on ibm 3727 beamspring
I fixed it. That was the wrong version of the firmware. For anyone else trying to get this particular model working with the model f labs controller, you need to use this version: http://35.164.28.200:5000/#/xwhatsit/ibm/3101_3727_3278_87key/xwhatsit_rev4/LAYOUT (note the 3727 and xwhatsit versions)

New post [Other] 'F SSK' style compatible with IBM chassis?
To answer my own question, it does not look to be the case (pun not intended). Unless someone else already created a mod. But the assemblies look much thicker.

New post [Workshop] [FMF] Free Model F - Capacitive Flippers
MG Chemicals 843AR.
I resin-printed a flipper, cured, and then painted as thinly as I could. Ideally, I think, would be to paint before curing and then covering with a thin layer of liquid resin, to prevent conductive stuff from flaking off.

New post [Off-topic] Hello from "iMav"...
I do want to say thanks (even though I was a horrible teenager and Ripster may as well have been one too LOL), that you created a platform which nurtured the knowledge I have today, which otherwise wouldn't exist. The 'domino' effect Geekhack had on everyone during those early days, was immense.

Considering our previous, ahem, discussions I didn't expect to log on to this site after a few months and see the last post was by wobbled and find something I wholeheartedly agreed with.

New post [Keyboards] New switches for an older timer
I'm completely out of the loop too, but from what I've tried with the modern stuff, it's improved tenfold in feel. Modern linears are so hilariously smooth there's almost no point in distinguishing a lot of them. Tactiles are seemingly trying different bumps compared to the copy+paste brown or clear

New post [Keyboards] Best vintage keyboard without spending life's savings?
With Alps you're looking at an almost definite restore job, or you're going to be let down. Clones age even more poorly, same can be said for vintage MX clones. You can get lucky and find a real gem of a board that was kept in good condition every now and again though.
Can't go wrong with a Model M..

New post [Keyboards] Firmware on New Model F (F77)
bsones it would be helpful if you could email me a firmware flashing guide that would be better, as I feel the project web site manual is understandable for most folks.
The keyboard auto restarts after using the firmware bat file, so nothing else is needed.

Production update:
The factory expects to complete all or almost all B104 before the Chinese New Year (mid-Feb.). Before they leave they will load what they have completed onto a container shipment, so the B104's can start going out to everyone in early April if all goes well.

New post [Keyboards] Looking for Attack Shark X68HE Firmware Dump (Stuck in Boot Mode)
@lonewolf98 and @deezyq89 The problem is not fixable by Attackshark as they are just the brand label company, the manufacturer has to provide the firmware, I had the same issues for x65HE, so I contacted the manufacturer and they have uploaded the firmware file in their servers, using the webdriver tool

New post [Keyboards] Model F Battleship connundrum...
Thanks for your feedback Falkenroth.
Thanks for your clarification Green Maned Lion. Yes they should all work, however with the caveat disclosed on the barrel page: https://www.modelfkeyboards.com/product/extra-barrel/
You may be looking too much into what folks do with their new Model F keyboards

New post [Keyboards] NIZ New V6/Pro series keyboard latest firmware update
Sid's a sneaky spy. Or he thinks he is, any any rate. But most times he shows up, people notice him. So much so, we have learned to give him the slip.
Oh, I bet our new overlords are enjoying their monthly cheques for $0.00 for DT's wealth of tracking info. The plonkers never even set it up right.

New post [Keyboards] Can you please help me to identify this keyboard
It's certainly not an Apple keyboard. The layout, however, is very Apple II.
It will be an Apple II clone's keyboard. I don’t know much about those, but they were a thing of the late 1970s through the early 1980s. This board will be that age, too. Everything about it says well pre-1990.
