New post [Want to buy] [UK] [H] PayPal [W] Apple Extended Keyboard II numpad asterisk keycap
Hi all,
Looking for a single 1u numpad asterisk (*) keycap from an Apple Extended Keyboard II (M3501). Alps mount, obviously.
Happy to pay a fair price plus shipping to the UK. If you've got a dead AEK II with keycaps to spare or just some spares around, I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks.

That's a Focus. It's working reliably, irrespective of its condition, is not entirely guaranteed. They made some really cool boards, and they used the best non-IBM switches in my opinion (Alps electric switches, usually whites), but the build quality of the boards and the quality of their electronics

New post [Want to buy] [WTB] [EU-DE] Futaba MA keyboard with German Layout
This is my first post here. I am not a collector, I just like to use old keyboards way older than me
As the title states I am looking for a keyboard with the Futaba MA clicky switches, in qwertz/german layout.
If you have a keyboard like this you want to part with, or have any tips where to

New post [Keyboards] 1985 Model M printing phantom characters and odd behavior
So I did more messing around with the keyboard. I did a "screw mod" using the procedure described by the user "modelf" on another thread. Board is assembled and we'll see how it does. If all else fails, I have acquired a known working replacement controller (it's made by IBM but not

New post [Keyboards] Fitting an M122 top case to an F122
I have no clue on this one. Never attempted doing this before. Good luck.
If you get it to work, document it and post it. Be interesting to see what had to be done to make it work.

Thanks to a helpful user, a reduced-content, simplified manual is available here on an as-is basis. It is not recommended (my recommendation remains to use the full manual) but feel free to email me feedback:

New post [Keyboards] [removed]
Ok, here's my take:
1) I like the battleship layout. I don't mean I think its the most adaptable to a modern layout: I prefer it to a standard 100% in every way people complain about it as inferior: I prefer the cross nav, I prefer placing my escape key at the top left of the left function cluster,

New post [Group buys] [IC] Ziprime LP-63 — Full 4mm travel, lower front height, rethought bottom-out
That is a fair criticism.
Layout choices like this can work well for some users, but they do create a real trade-off for people who rely on right Shift by muscle memory.
This is exactly the kind of feedback that is useful at the IC stage.

You can post, btw. Let me repeat myself:
When you see the error: delete the &sid= 12345678901234567890 section of the url. Then reload the page.
Usually everything after &sid= can go. It's just broken tracking garbage.

This is a connector box Va and like I said in the second part, it is burnt from receiving negative voltages and now will only power the board, no communication happens from the connector box outwards.
I am currently waiting on the modular ends to do the +12v + ps/2 custom cabling to bypass the box,

New post [Keyboards] Datadesk TK-3000 Disassembly Advice
I love the way these boards look, and am trying to get at least one unit perfectly restored and functional. Upon removing the caps on the first one I acquired, I noticed the metal base plate that holds all of the switches was chipping paint and rusting. I have since obtained a second identical unit,

The keyboard currently sitting here is a 1981 IBM Model F/XT , unmodded, which was $99 on eBay, with a $30 XT-to-USB converter from Amazon. The whole setup was under $150 with taxes and shipping included.
Only thing I've done is lightly clean the case top and some of
