Any clues why I can't log in for the wiki, with a supposedly invalid user name? The login used is the very same as on the forum, as it states on the front page.

http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/pckeyboards_2153_842017 This photo has got to be a delayed April Fools joke. You see, I'm not particularly picky when it comes to looks, but that is some of the worst product presentation I've seen. At least get the darn white balance right if nothing else. Looks lik...

Or Dutch, for that matter.

Good to see that the winner is a noob rather than one of us spoiled keyboard-collecting types. Not sure whether I'd have chosen one with reds as the first mechanical, but it'll be a very nice board in any case.

It's not that difficult really (heck, if I can do it, almost anyone can). I got by with a single 2.0 mm flat head precision screwdriver in the end. Just be careful not to have switch internals flying all over the room, and whatever you do, don't mess with the metal parts used for making contact.

Not entirely surprising, these guys are really Speedlink, who are a German brand.

For me it's
1) MX blues
2) BS (M style)
3) MX clears
followed by various stuff that's quite usable (Futaba, blacks). Note that I have not been able to try brown and red switches, a Model F or Montereys yet, which I assume would all rank pretty highly.

Yep. And that is so rare for Cherry Corp, that they did not even bother to make up a special stabilizer for it. Just dumped two switches in there, and there they go.

I do think the foam softens bottoming out. It's somewhat inconsistent on the board I have, but feel definitely is different from a ML4700. Off-center friction didn't prove much of a problem for me here. Once you get used to the somewhat wacky keycap shape (not as friendly as the FSC boards by far), ...

Looking at that label, it wants to be put in its proper place badly. Just curious - are there any proven methods for that? Would sixty's (with hairdryer) apply here? As for the functional problems, these are odd. Normally I'd say spill damage (the Y/H cross-linking would be an indication, too), but ...

L001.jpg L002.jpg Cool, I didn't know there were "lefty" boards with a mirrored numpad out there - even though as stated, mirroring 1..9 does seem excessive. (Try using MouseKeys with that one!) So... does anyone make a standalone lefty numpad with -/+/Enter/./0 mirrored? Would seem like a market n...

Until it stops working, that is. ;)

But yes, the detachable numpad is one of the nicer things about this board. Too bad they don't really hold up.

The easiest way to tell actually is the LED label. Note how it does not extend over the whole numpad width. I think this board is a Mitsumi, KPQ-E99 or whatever they're called.

It's an interesting idea for sure, but I'd rather have a monitor with an ambient light sensor take care of that (minus the color temp adjustment, obviously). Those are the shit. (Typically some upscale Eizos or NECs.) And the idea isn't even new - the folks at Grundig already implemented such things...

Yes, commercially available lefty keyboards make no sense. Like, at all. On my German keyboard page I have discussed various keyboard arrangements that made sense to me under the aspect of handedness and mouse usage, and none of them looks like the one seen on the keyboard in the first post. Reds are now also available for MO from Cherry. Interestingly it seems like they are expanding their catalog, while MOQ and delivery time is about doubled to quadrupled. Prices also have been raised. OK guys... Now that I'm in, let me note a few things: 1. This site needs a mission statement in an obvious place (preferably where even yours truly would find it). 2.
