I don't like the case... but I think I wholly understand all of its design decisions.. lots of old timey keyboards had huge in your face logos... and of course.. lots of them you saw some of the key mechanisms underneath the front..

I think that view of the switches at the bottom is its best design ...

the 'Hi-Pro' nonsense is all over reddit these days.. do some searches...

either Originative is the source of this, Reddit is, a combination of both, or maybe some folks are just realizing 'wow people really respond to this marketing term' and are causing it to spread beyond the Topre brand boards ...

That is a great looking board... I am not much help as it relates to the grounding concern..

but I will say, unrelated.....as a left handed person (who never played video games) I've always thought this kind of board should have been the norm for right handed people once a mouse was required ...

Considering the IBM terminal boards for the 4700 system in the asian markets with the japanese and chinese language caps ('pingmasters') also had Alps (vintage tee mount greens) I wonder how common these kind of boards could be?

Nobody seems to have seen a 'used' japanese/chinese IBM green alps ...

not a 55g board...... but uniform 45g.. dont forget about the topre type heaven,.. full size, with ABS caps, made in china... pretty cheap, maybe a bit easier to bite the bullet on if youre simply looking to see if it suits you, probably not too hard to sell.

DCS key caps look pretty low in comparison though and also don't come in PBT, so from a cursory inspection of the first thread linked, I'd say you'd want to find something in OEM or Tai-Hao....

Just as a bit of info...... DCS is available in PBT, on the PMK website, but only as blanks in ...

While it is a shame that some hidden gems on ebay might get a bit expensive I think we already had the cat out of the bag moment eons ago. With any random ebay person seemingly knowing a 'vintage clicky keyboard' is something that, whether it is good or not, theyll either put a high BIN price on, or ...

Not a new find, but the much talked about IBM 4704 compatible vintage Alps SKCC 'pingmaster' boards of the Chinese variety that have been on sale for ages from a place in Ohio had their price reduced a bit, now at $22.01. Those in the USA can get one to their door for as little as $30.04 total ...

Dealing with a stain on an IBM Model M case?

Greetings!

I've got an '89 Model M that I'm working on getting fresh and outside of an order for a new membrane from unicomp the only thing I'm not sure of how to fix is some staining on the case.

At some point in this boards distant past something appears to have splashed on it, causing it to ...
