As a side project, I bought an IBM PS/2 Model 70 that I restored: new hard drive, new floppy drive, added an audio card, etc.

You can also remove the isolation on a long wire using an x-acto knife and steady hands.

Holy cow, only 7 bucks!? I thought it was in the range of 50 - 100 I guess it's a little bit more if they also remove the paint (ex: sand blasting). Thanks for the info!

It depends on the interface you're using.
I have Kodi with a skin that let me do everything from a keyboard, no mouse required.

I'm the same way. I fooled myself into thinking my F107 felt as nice as my XT, but I just didn't want to put my XT away after taking it out and using it for the first time in weeks. The F107 still feels good but the XT is so crisp and feels a bit more tactile to me. Really hope my F77 remake feels ...

I prefer the 60% grey... but I would like to see the samples on a keyboard, if possible.

This restoration is amazing and the powder coat job is soooo beautiful. It is more grey than eggshell but classy nonetheless.

For the keycaps, here's an idea to complement the indy blue ones: Unicomp blue APLs (I never saw them in the wild, I wonder if they are as faded out as the orange ones).

Why one from a 3178 specifically ? I mean there's a lot of solenoids on ebay and whatnot, so why not one of those ?
