A very interesting project! Looking forward to those technical details, just curious about your approach to building that converter.

Re: IBM Model M keyboard search

Should I look for some kind of signs of wear or some kind of known quality issues? Like if there is something obvious in model Ms? Keys not registering or uneven feel. You can also just shake it a bit and hear the broken rivets moving inside the case. Oh and, if you need to open it, the nut driver ...

Re: Terminal model M keycaps.

I ordered some new ones through Ellipse's store... not sure if he is still accepting orders for new keys. https://www.modelfkeyboards.com/product/new-custom-legend-keycaps/ Thanks for your input, daedalus. I'll take that into account if I don't find the keycaps in a reasonable amount of time. And b...

Hi, Ihutton. This is the "hid map" I got from my M122: m122_scan_codes.jpg As you can see, the hid code you need to remap the central key of the cross arrow nav is 0x93 (LANG_4). As for the "<" key, I guess your computer expects an US-EN layout, which lacks that key so it produces a strange characte...

I think these are bolts. At least my bolt-modded Model M has two bolts exactly in those places.

Hope this post from geekhack helps you. It's about bolt-modding instead of screw-modding, but is written by an american so I figure you can get the parts you need from the same source: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=62226.0 Edit: the part about the "ball end" bit for making the divot to stabil...

Yes, the weight measurement includes bolts (x58), nuts (x50) and washers (x50).

The steel plate thickness is 1.0 mm. The same as my 3rd generation 1391405 from late 1992.
