Re: New SMD Model F controllers available
Oh, thank you very much and sorry for not replying earlier.
Before I test it: Is there a way to do a backup of my controller in case it does not work anymore after the flash?
Well, typically when you buy a Pro Micro, it arrives blank (other than the bootloader). So I'm a little confused about ...

I am stating that this solution is simpler and more reliable than changing the springs.
First, I do agree that I think it would be a fascinating and informative test if somebody could take a keyboard that seems to have some pad sensing problems of some kind, and change ONLY the controller, from ...

Re: F104+SSK+122+62+77+50+Ergo orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
I will report that one person recently noted an issue with transposed keys and the cause of the issue ended up being their use of Combos in the Vial firmware. Removing the combos fixed the transposed issue.
QMK Combos is honestly a bit of a weird feature. It can cause perceived delay/latency in ...

Looking to get my PC AT programmed. Using the universal with the Pro Micro. I am getting this from the QMK Toolbox. Any idea?
Edit: Got it working. But still curious about that.

The QMK stuff should work just fine. The only issues I had really firmware wise with my Kishy were pretty much all user error on my end.
Just to be clear, "Vial" firmware is not really a wholly separate firmware project, but is the same QMK firmware you're already used to (so, QMK + pandrew's ...

Quick question. Just getting a new controller from the site installed into an original Model T AT and was wondering what the reason was behind having to short J1 on the RP2040, or if that is still needed.
I was confused by your reference to RP2040 since that is the microcontroller used on ...

It does not have to do with lead times. I guess that it has to do with stock and economies of scale.
The Leyden-Jar was completed on May 2023.

And I can see you've got quite a few more steps than just doing the build in the utils folder.
It matters what the source of your "utils" folder is.
If you just cloned the repo hosted at purdea.ro and built from that, the util will not detect your keyboard.
You need to apply some additional ...

I believe the F104/FSSK standard ANSI/ISO sets Fn as the key between Right Alt and Right Ctrl.
Sorry, yes, just in case it wasn't clear to everyone based on what I wrote, that was what I was trying to communicate: on HHKB split shift boards, Fn is the extra key from splitting the shift, but ...

I have no idea what that blank key originally did.
My assumption is that it was "originally" Esc, as I have to believe it only came into being on Type 5 when they decided to make a bigger keyboard that also had "IBM Enhanced Layout" style ANSI/ISO variants. I assume this because it has no ...
