Re: Black BTC dome with slider?
Please post pics! BTW. BTC was also an OEM for other brands, and it is possible any of those wanted dark colours. https://imgur.com/a/SLLnWtD It's a black Packard Bell BTC but with a wierd mount that takes alps caps. Kinda looks like inverse cherry or inverse SMK or something? Appears this is not a...

Black BTC dome with slider?
Has a black BTC dome with slider ever been found? All I've seen are white ones with Cherry mounts. I have one in black with Alps mount. I don't know if this is a known about version of the keyboard.

Re: Blue or Brown Switch ?
Hello! . Is the different between blue and brown switch ? which one is better ? It obviously depends whether you prefer tee (then blue is better) or coffee (in this case, definitely brown). And if you are left-handed, you should absolutely try red switches, while blacks are better for people with e...

Re: Why no more clickleaf switches?
Lateral leaf springs add friction. You could make a smoother, soft-tactile switch with rubber dome or sleeve. A stacked coiled spring on dome can provide sharper tactility than dome alone. A progressive spring with rubber dome/sleeve in parallel could provide feel similar to Panda/T1/Zealio/Clear ....

Re: Why no more clickleaf switches?
I'm gonna go out on a limb on this one. Buckling spring, plate spring >>>> click leaf... It's a flawed design, if it's not part of mechanism itself. I don't think there is enough room in a cherry size switch for a full buckling spring. And if you make the top removable, you could just swap the leav...

Why no more clickleaf switches?
Given the uprise of light/hall effect switches, there isn't the need for the use of the room for the switch contacts. Why couldn't this room be used for an Alps style clickleaf?

Teensy 3.6 keyboard adaptation
I've got a Teensy 3.6 and some alps board that I want to convert. I've got wires and all, what should I do software wise. Not looking for anything overly complex...just something that will work. Could I just write a quick little loop and type function?

Cherry G80-3000 find
I found a G80-3000 with MX clear at the thrift store for $4.88. Don't know what to think of these switches quite yet but they are very quiet because of the very stiff bottoming out force. Reuters badge looks pretty neat though. Don't think this was that bad of a deal. IMG_20191123_123604.jpg IMG_201...

Which box switch?
I'm kinda lost on which box switch I should get. I know I like MX blue & brown weighting, I find SKBM grey to be a bit on the heavier side but still pretty nice...so probably 55cN to 60cN. I was thinking either white, jade or pink box switches. Which do you think I should start with...well I should ...

How heavy is the Model M using these keyboards I have:
I want to buy a model M but I can't figure out how heavy it is just using gram weightings.
I have:
Cherry MX Blue
Whatever Alps the Apple IIe uses.
Model F
Alps SKBM Gray
Alps SKCM Salmon
BTC dome with slider.
What would be a general placement compared to these keyboards?

Re: Tactile complicated alps switches that have become clicky
I got the reverse effect on my Alps Gray board. My clicky turned tactile. I just used my fingers to get apporiximate shape right. A little subtle difference you cant tell.

Depends. If you want just the F XT keyboard, not very good. If you like vintage computing, pretty excellent :D . Re: Best MX keyboard to replace the controller for a unix keyboard?
No, buy some switches, a premade 60% pcb and case and some MX keycaps. Solder it together and boom you are done.

Alps Gray spring swap?
Hello, Yesterday, I took apart one of the switches in my Matias TactilePro 2 keyboard with SKBM Gray switches. The 'A' key stopped making its click. So when I removed its clickleaf, it matched up identically to the blue clickleaf. The leaf ended up being bent forward so it couldn't snap against the ...
