Pattern Recognition by William Gibson. I mention this because it's otaku melodrama - you'll love it. Pattern Recognition is one of my favorite novels. I've read it multiple times despite my feeling that the ending was rushed. Spook Country is a pseudo-sequel, but I didn't actually know that until a...

I thought that Abercrombie's "First Law" trilogy was exceptional; his ability to effectively change his written voice to match the reader's shift in character PoV is the best I've read. His darker tone coupled with a not-exactly-high-fantasy setting does a lot to separate the series from other popul...

I always find myself wondering why there's such a dearth of new or unique form amongst mechanical keyboards. Granted, most mechanicals are intended for commercial/industrial use and the home and collector's markets are still a niche. That fact withstanding, there has to be a market for mechkey board...

snip What I was trying to say before (and I dunno if it was clear) was that anyone could do what OCN did. Selling a Ducky stamped with "OCN" is unimaginative, lame and boring. I thought GH and DKT were better than that. And certainly my goal, if I do head up or help with a custom keyboard geared to...

Basically, a card carrying member of the "I Love and Watch All Things SNSD" club. I, for example, have all of Daum's SNSD screensavers rotating on this computer and all of the SNSD apps for my iPhone. I have also watched most of their fan-subbed Korean TV programs -- with the necessary omission of "...

Though I can't for the life of me remember where, I could swear that I stumbled on a cracked Windows version of the software for the Apple Magic line. I was looking into their mouse specifically, so the version I'm thinking of might not cover the newer trackpad. Still, it might be worth looking into...

What about the Fukkas in the Matias Tactile Pro? I'm out of my depth in trying to source which iteration of white Alps or Fukkas are in a particular board. Short of pulling model numbers, is there a way to tell for the more recent boards? The manufactures' sites don't often give detailed switch info...

Maybe you need to get into Alps or buckling springs if you find the Blues don't provide enough resistance. I have a line on a vintage SiiG MiniTouch with white Alps (or some facsimile), but I didn't find it until after my school hit me with a $1500 materials cost for the semester. That's rough on $...

It still too early in my mechkey addiction to say with any confidence that Cherry blues are my favorite switch; I still have many to try. I do know, however, that clicky switches are almost a necessity. The sound of typing on clicky switches has a near-mesmeric effect for me, helping me to focus and...
