I'm trying to debug a key that stopped working on my F62. It sounds fine and reseating the keycap hasn't helped, so I downloaded pandrew's utility to look at signal levels. But I get the following message when I click "Signal Level Monitor": "Unknown keyboard (you may need to update the util version ...

I'm worried about ripping loose the PCB-mounted USB connector on my compact F62. Has anyone found a clever solution?

How do you have the keys mapped? My bottom row is Opt, MacFn, Cmd, Ctrl, Space, CapsLock, nothing, nothing, and MO(1).darkcruix wrote: 22 Jun 2022, 16:18 Tried the SCUMYC layout for the first time and I start to get used to it.

Would it be possible to sneak in a 1u control symbol ("^") and a 1u Mac command symbol ("⌘")? I would love to have a couple of each in pebble.

Is there a way to open and close the inner assembly without having to remove and replace all the keys? When I try, some of the flipper always end up displaced or stuck.

XMIT, both Linux solutions for SpaceFn are linked in the latter part of the SpaceFn thread on GH: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=51069.350 Ask me again if you can’t find it.

tentator, I’ve been very happy with setting up SpaceFn in the OS instead of the keyboard firmware. It has the benefit of working the same with all keyboards, including built-in laptop keyboards.

I'd love to see the dyesub setup and hear about how it works.
If you can figure out how to do the dyesubbing well and share the details, it will usher in a whole new era of keycap design and production for the community, not only for bucking springs but also Topre and Cherry MX.

Model F delayed flip/actuation
I have an XT keyboard where some keys actuate a fraction of a second after the spring buckles. The delay is variable but on the order of a quarter second—enough that touch typing is a problem. It's the flipper that flips late: I can hear a second click. I can prevent the delay by pounding the key ...

A clue: the two copper dots are right under the "feet" (pivot points) of the flipper. I still don't understand their purpose in the design. If it were just to lift the flipper a little, they could have made the feet taller. Perhaps the dots make those parts of the PCB smoother or more resistant to ...

PCB for the 50-key IBM 4740
After seeing the XTant, FSSK/FEXT, Model MF, and the 3277 PCBs, I'm wondering what the PCB of the 50-key IBM 4740 keyboards look like. (That's the 10 x 5 ortholinear one). I know that a number of people here have them. Has anyone scanned the PCB or at least taken a good picture?
