I can't help it, reading Webster"s arguments reminds me of this humorous text which was widely propagated quite a few years ago in the EU’s language-related industry: The European Union commissioners have announced that an agreement has been reached to adopt English as the preferred language for Eu...

The English in Britain just developed further (to today's UK English) whereas the US kept their "British" accent. Anyway, I opt for BE. Altough I lived a couple of years in Vancouver and also my accent der...

I would recommend everyone considering getting a second monitor to get one, the extra screen space is heaven. I also use a portrait+landscape setup(see page 10 in this thread) and while it's really comfortable for some uses (as ne0phyte already pointed out), I wouldn't buy a second screen just for ...

This has probably been asked before, but what is the rationale behind the landscape/portrait setup as opposed to the landscape/landscape one? I am also using the us-international layout since about a decade now. Could not imagine going back. As a downside I really struggle with German keyboards by now and kinda forgot how to type on them. The one thing I love about German keyboards is that quotation marks are in the same place as in the ...

When I was in school, there was actually a mandatory typing class. Was surprisingly hard, because the teacher was lazy and just make us type a specific amount of words in a minute, or whatever. We learnt quickly that you had to use all ten fingers, because it was impossible to type that many words w...
