Velocifire has pretty bad stabilizers though. But they are Cherry standard.

Re: modernised G80-3000, now in TKL !
I don't like it anymore. It just looks like any $20 Chinese gamer keyboard now.
I really like the old G80 cases because they actually looked like a classic keyboard.
Why can't we have any modern fullsize cheap mech keyboards without any "gamer" or backlit BS?

I think you just download the hex file and flash it after shorting the pads to change the mode, (personally i've used Atmel FLIP)

Re: Issues with a Matias Tactile Pro 4 I bought
Matias makes the stems way too tight. The last build I did with them I cracked several new Tai-Hao keycaps trying to pull them off. NOS Alps switches and every other Alps clone I tried don't have this problem. I don't do builds with them anymore, I will be using another clicky Alps clone I found (it...

Re: Unicomp SSK delayed, new Model M design coming
Speaking of keyboard bottoms - I notice that all their white "Ultra Classic" variants now have a black lower case: https://www.pckeyboard.com/page/product/UNIZPHA https://www.pckeyboard.com/page/product/UNI0PGA https://www.pckeyboard.com/page/product/UNI0P4A They probably don't sell a lot of the wh...

Something I would like to see in later Ms is Doubleshot PBT keycaps, it would make the black Model Ms look a lot better too.

Re: [IC] 104 key Ergonomic Mechanical Keyboard
My suggestions (posted on Google form as well) non-backlit version, any black and Durock T1 switches as options, or kit form without keycaps (except spacebar keycaps) or switches, just the chassis and PCB.

Re: Alps Appreciation
The thing is that is I can easily make them feel nice and tactile but I don't know if it's the "correct" tactility. Unless I can have access to a NOS tactile leaf (wondering if it's worth it or if Alps tactiles had this poor tactility out of the box)

Re: Alps Appreciation
I'm frustrated with tactile Alps, every single switch I've tried felt like scratchy linears except for SKCM Brown (presumably from wear) but I have no way to rebend them so they are consistent or even accurate to how they were originally. I did find a plant in China who can make new leaves at a reas...

Do you still have access to that building?
It may seem impossible but I want to try my hand at an extreme PC salvage, some of the other boards there look interesting too.

Re: Alps restoration guide
I've had good luck with "WD-40 Specialist with PTFE"
It leave a slightly oily film instead of being completely dry like Dupont PTFE i've tried, it seems to work well.
I put some on the Caps Lock switch of my yellow Alps64 (mapped to fn) to stop it from binding and it hasn't lost it's smoothness.
